The Wheel of Time is now an original series on Prime Video, starring Rosamund Pike as Moiraine!

With Robert Jordan’s untimely passing in 2007, Brandon Sanderson, the New York Times bestselling author of the Mistborn novels and the Stormlight Archive, was chosen by Jordan’s editor—his wife, Harriet McDougal—to complete the final volume in The Wheel of Time®, later expanded to three books.

In Towers of Midnight, the thirteenth novel in Jordan’s #1 New York Times bestselling epic fantasy series, the Last Battle has truly begun. The seals on the Dark One’s prison are crumbling. The Pattern itself is unraveling, and the armies of the Shadow have begun to boil out of the Blight.

The sun has begun to set upon the Third Age. And trials by fire await those fighting against the darkness that encroaches from their enemies—and within themselves…

Perrin Aybara is now hunted by specters from his past: Whitecloaks, a slayer of wolves, and the responsibilities of leadership. All the while, an unseen foe is slowly pulling a noose tight around his neck. To prevail, he must seek answers in Tel'aran'rhiod and find a way—at long last—to master the wolf within him or lose himself to it forever.

Mat Cauthon must once again face the creatures beyond the stone gateways, the Aelfinn and the Eelfinn. He had hoped that his last confrontation with them would be the end of it, but the Wheel weaves as the Wheel wills. The Tower of Ghenjei awaits, and its secrets will reveal the fate of a friend long lost.

Rand al’Thor, the Dragon Reborn, arrives at the White Tower with a startling revelation for Egwene al’Vere. Fearful for his sanity, Egwene summons the rulers of the Borderlands to stand against him—knowing the fate of the world rests in their hands.

Since its debut in 1990, The Wheel of Time® by Robert Jordan has captivated millions around the globe with its scope, originality, and compelling characters. The last six books in series were all instant #1 New York Times bestsellers, and The Eye of the World was named one of America's best-loved novels by PBS's The Great American Read.

As with the gathering storm, this book benefits from the blending of styles between Jordan and Sanderson. The action and plot keep your attention and make it difficult to stop. Sanderson does the reader / listener the favor of removing the one and only true annoyance of Robert Jordan's writing style; that being the never-ending detailed descriptions of every conceivable object, especially every characters current clothing. Enough detail remains to not fully depart from precedent; however, emphasis is given to plot and actions. The only problem I have with this book is the realization that it will likely be at least another year before I can purchase the final book.

Keeps getting better!

Book does a great job of tying up all the plots that have come before, can't wait for the final installment.

Brandon Sanderson has given us a great gift by continuing Robert Jordan's Epic Saga of WoT! I am very happy with the writing and of course with our dear narrators Michael and Kate. Their voices have become the voices of the WoT characters. As always theyare excellent (only a few horribly mispronounced words). If you are new to WoT please don't start here. If you are an avid reader and were disappointed with The Gathering Storm (I wasn't but many were) give Brandon another chance. He has really picked up the ball on this new installation of our wonderous world. And Randland continues!

The Saga Continues!

This story is a struggle because of all the loose ties that float around. between the forsaken and the main protagonists there are far to many. took me 12 years to get this far, but I think Sanderson has re-peaked my interest in the wheel of time.

boring reader great ending

This was our family's most anticipated book of the year. We're huge fans of this series and it was immensely satisfying to finally get the book. I was hoping they would take care of the Black Tower but they didn't. I was hoping that they would get things settled with the Seanchan, but they didn't...... BUT I LOVED the parts with Lan, Perrin and Mat, Egwene and the changes in Rand. I cried, laughed and worried. Of course, it is the middle of this 3-book ending and it does NOT end in a good spot. If you can't stand cliff hangers.... you probably arent' reading this series. If it is too much stress you may want to wait until next year when the final book comes out. I thoroughly enjoyed it and have listened to it twice now. I just can't believe he is planning to wrap it up in one more book! If you love fantasy adventure and can stand complexity and a ton of characters, this book series will take you to a wonderful place. But start at the beginning (The Eye of the World) and persevere. The endings and character development are worth it. I can hardly wait for the next book!!

The continued building excitement is refreshing in comparison to the slog of books 7-10. We have finally gotten past the perspective of random, unimportant characters. World-building is important, but action and story advancement are necessary to keep readers’ attention, and re-starting with book 11, we are finally getting that!

As far as book 13 goes, the lack of communication between people on this world is still baffling. There is also an odd timeline situation with Tam where it seems he is in 2 places at once. Maybe it’s more clear in the book is just confusing on audiobook.

As far as narration…Reading and Kramer are excellent as always! Kate Reading is by far my favorite narrator! They are pretty consistent with their accents and it makes it really easy to follow.

Excellent book…same excellent narration!
