Critic reviews

"Astonishing ... a fascinating exploration of the future."—New York Times
"While there's plenty of zombie mayhem, political snark, and pointedly funny observations here, the heart of this book is about human relationships, which are still the most important thing in the world...even in a world where you might have to shoot the person you love most in the head, just to stop them from biting off your face."—Locus on Feed
"Feed is a proper thriller with zombies. Grant doesn't get carried away with describing her world or the virus. She's clearly thought both out brilliantly, but she doesn't let it get in the way of a taut, well-written story."—SFX on Feed
"The story starts with a bang as corruption, mystery, danger and excitement abound."—RT Book Reviews (4.5 stars) on Feed
"Gripping, thrilling, and brutal... Shunning misogynistic horror tropes in favor of genuine drama and pure creepiness, McGuire has crafted a masterpiece of suspense with engaging, appealing characters who conduct a soul-shredding examination of what's true and what's reported."—Publishers Weekly (Starred Review) on Feed
"Intelligent and intense, a thinking-person's post-apocalyptic zombie thriller set in a fully-realized future that is both fascinating and horrifying to behold."—John Joseph Adams on Feed
"I can't wait for the next book."—N.K. Jemisin on Feed
"It's a novel with as much brains as heart, and both are filling and delicious."—The A. V. Club on Feed
"OK, all of you readers who want something weighty and yet light, campy and yet smart, horror with heart, a summer beach read that will stay in your head and whisper to you "what if," Deadline is just what you are looking for."—RT Book Reviews on Deadline
"Deft cultural touches, intriguing science, and amped-up action will delight Grant's numerous fans."—Publishers Weekly (starred review) on Deadline

Featured Article: The Best Audiobook Series of All Time by Genre

What makes a good audiobook series? There are as many answers to this question as there are listeners. For some, it might be epic battles. For others, it might be ongoing romantic twists and tensions. For still others, it might be elongated character studies or an in-depth analysis of a particular time and place. But the universal element of a truly great series is that it sticks with you long after the last word. These are our favorites from every major genre.

this is basically a Zombie story, However it details the Human loss, the Human side of the virus that makes us all zombies in the future. A good listen. While confusing at times, Brian pulled off well. I would not have listened for over six bucks i must admit.

Another Zombie Story, from the start.

I read the other books by checking them out in the library I didn’t want to buy the physical copy of this book. It was interesting but the man who voiced it didn’t do a good job doing the female voices. It was kinda creepy

The story isn’t bad

I felt it had more plot and drama than the main novel. The writing was much better and seemed more mature. Maybe it gets better after Feed, but I actually prefer this short story to the novel.

This short prequel is better than the main story!

Prequel information, released in the middle. If you're listening to the series already, you REALLY want this information.

and then, in the middle, some background.

I really enjoy the Newsflesh series. I’m a zombie book lover and enjoy this series initially because of this. I stay for all of the additional story lines because the author has created a rich world with characters that are intriguing and well rounded. I well understand why this series has won awards. Those who like this unusual genre will be drawn in by this new refreshing look.

Love this fresh approach
