This third novel in Tanya Huff's action-packed series features Tony Foster and the crew of "Darkest Night," a TV series about a vampire detective. This time they find themselves facing another supernatural menace, a Demonic Convergence. Tony - with the help of vampire Henry Fitzroy and Leah, a stuntwoman who is the last surviving priestess of a sex demon, plus a tabloid reporter and a Canadian Mountie - must keep the key to the convergence alive to prevent a demonic invasion so large scale that it could be the finale - for the whole world.

If you like your contemporary paranormal fantasy with plenty of humor, don't mind that the protagonist is gay and that the book has a real story instead of a thin gloss over a lot of sex scenes, give this a try.

Really fun!

I loved reading this book as a kid, it really helped with my identity issues. I’m so glad to get to listen to it now.

Great read!

TH is a clever author, but Tony should be long dead by this book (surviving on street smarts in his teen years, but he can barely get thru a day on set). And the heroine doesn’t have many redeeming characteristics. Her sexual adventures were barely consensual. And the author’s fixation on abusing the MC (a casual punch by Amy or Lia despite him having internal bleeding, dated kick in the balls humor, etc.) is a bit off putting. All of that said, the MC does start to stand up for himself and make better decisions toward the end, with help from his friends, which is a nice way to end the trilogy.

A Fitting Ending

The characters are in-depth, the plot riveting, and the humor engaging. I have just one problem...I WANT MORE!!!

The whole series was wonderfully written, the characters came alive for me and I very much enjoyed the way they developed and changed bit by bit through out the whole series.

There are moments when I can completely sympathize with Tony and his struggles to do the right thing and urge others to do so too.

Plus being a vancouverite myself, made it doubly interesting to me.

The audible performance was also wonderful, I loved the way Sutherland performed Henry's voice. The performance brought another level of depth to the story. There were, however, 2 places that I noticed where there seemed to be an editing error and the dialogue was repeated twice.

All in all I would recommend it with two thumbs up.

Wishing there was more
