I am everything you desire. I am vampire.

Powerful and manipulative, Vasilije does as he pleases. A vampire beholden to no one, he takes what he desires, drinking deeply the pleasures this life has to offer. When one of his own is staked, Vasilije must travel to New Orleans to exact his revenge. There he meets Sasa, a beautiful woman who arouses him like no other has for centuries. Vasilije's need for vengeance is equaled only by his passion for her, but what he finds in his revenge is just the beginning....

It took me a moment to get through this one. Okay, Sasa, the heroine, was a dimwit. I mean who bargains to make their mother a vampire and has no freakin concept of what that actually means? And then compounds the problem by making additional bargains without thinking it through, really?! And Vasilije is a man-whore (and really Sasa is not too far from it). This one I just didn't get or have more dept. I kept waiting for it to get better or for Sasa to gain common sense, but nope never happened. I will say that the end was a little better than the rest of the book. Just my opinion :)

On a positive note John Lazoro! Wow, he just has a wonderfully deep voice. I loved listening to him. I stayed with the book just because, even if I think Vasilije was a man-whore, Lazoro makes him a deliciously sounding man-whore. :)

hummm ..... overall it was decent

Sensual, captivating narration by John Lazaro. Storyline good, but not compelling. Lacked history and depth.

Great Narrator!

This story has "good bones" and definite potential as a burgeoning series. The writing was fairly basic...no major frills and added drama..but it was enjoyable, erotic, and funny all the same. The narration added to it for sure, he has a very delicious voice. The one negative in the narration is that he remains somewhat flat...no major inflection and passion...but definitely good enough to make me want to hear more. If you're interested in a quick listen, this is a good book to purchase.

Good start to a sexy vampire series

I wanted so badly to fall in love with this novel. I love Gabrielle's work, but this one just did not tickle my fancy. The reader did well, the story was okay but I just could not fall in love with them.

JUST OKAY

Let me first start off by saying that I really enjoyed the narrator. I think he could have done a better job expressing different emotions; the anger, etc. was a bit on the flat side, but he does have the right kind of deep, sexy voice for this type of performance. Hope he picks up his game in the following stories.

I thought the story was pretty good. My main complaint was the lack of character development; granted we got to know Vasilije and his background better as the story progressed, however, even that was a bit on the weak side. And, Sasa, well there was nothing, except the history with her mother and that she was an empath. I would have liked to have gotten to know her better and get more of a sense of who she was other than her mother's keeper. Maybe we'll hear more about her in the future.

Overall, I liked it enough to download the next in the series. Hope we get to know Saint better. Also, I virtually never (with the exception of 3 out of hundreds) give 5's, rarely give 4's, so for me 3's don't mean it was bad.

PRETTY GOOD !! OLD MIXED WITH NEW TAKE ON VAMPS
