Colonial Union Ambassador Ode Abumwe and her team are used to life on the lower end of the diplomatic ladder. But when a high-profile diplomat goes missing, Abumwe and her team are last-minute replacements on a mission critical to the Colonial Union’s future. As the team works to pull off their task, CDF Lieutenant Harry Wilson discovers there’s more to the story of the missing diplomats than anyone expected... a secret that could spell war for humanity.
The B-Team is a tale from John Scalzi's The Human Division, a series of self-contained but interrelated short stories set in the Old Man's War universe.

_________________________________________________- I really like this series of about 13 short stories that are vignettes of "The Human Division" by John Scalzi. I rarely give 5-stars but most of these are I that category. I wish I could write like this . . . .The man is gifted. 😱
GREAT Story!!! This is Episode 1. Do them all in order! 😱

They aren't structured so much as chapters of a book, but as semi-independent short stories, some of which use recurring characters, and that occur in more or less chronological order. Scalzi clearly wanted to experiment with different kinsd of stories and narrative structure. One is told in a really annoying transcript format. Some tell stories from characters other than the main group. There are few strong links or building plot structures across the stories. It does build to some excitement in the last one, but there is no real resolution or ending - Scalzi could easily add a new episode tomorrow if he wanted.
This would be an AMAZING podcast, but as a series of independent books, I'm dubious. There is no reason why they shouldn't be pulled together into one book representing a collection of the short stories. That would be a decent length, and worth the price.
I did enjoy the series overall, but just make sure you know what you're getting into. I didn't pay close attention and had simply assumed I was getting a large collection of full Scalzi novels.
Decent series, but overpriced

Sci fi at its best

I’ve heard this in other Scalzi audiobooks so it may just be the writing. Can’t continue listening.
I think it might be a good story…..

Where does The B-Team rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
The series started off well enough, but I grew tired of waiting for more episodes to come out. The piecemeal release of each episode is how tv networks operate, I don't want the same thing in my books. What was one of the most memorable moments of The B-Team?
The first book in the series. What does William Dufris bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Great narration.Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
My extreme reaction caused me to preorder the whole series.Any additional comments?
After the ninth episode, I canceled the rest. I decided not to put up with having to wait. If a full book is published, I'll be one of the first to order it.Grew tired of waiting for more chapters

This is my second Scalzi book (the first was a much longer Fuzzy Nation). He writes with constant "he said" "she said" at the end of sentences which gets annoying, but his stories are good enough that you still enjoy them.
I plan to listen to all the books in his Human Division series.
Great Short Story (and for 51 cents!)
