Publisher's summary

World-famous (and now retired) photographer Jenvieve Adams has a debt to repay - and a soft spot for modern witches who have lost their way. Or so she thinks, until they actually show up.

Jennie is the newest guide for WitchLight, and her first two students are about to arrive. One is an obsessive psychologist with hidden layers under her repressed exterior. The other is a grown-up juvenile delinquent with a passion for words and a kick-ass biscuit recipe. Can Jennie help unlock their hearts?

Great if you like the other Witch books!

Where does Witches on Parole rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

A very solid start to the spin-off series. I'm fond of the 'A Modern Witch' series and this doesn't disappoint. I was curious about Lizard, since she just appeared as an established character in the main series without introduction.

Have you listened to any of Madeleine Lambert’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I haven't. However, she does a solid job of speaking clearly, though I admit to preferring Martha Harmon Pardee's performances.

Any additional comments?

This book apparently takes place between books 2 and 3 of the main series. I think I'll recommend that people should read this then, if they haven't already passed that point. It's a bit disconcerting when a character pops into a series/story and you've no idea where they came from. It's not especially important as she is a minor character in the series, but it is my recommendation. Honestly, I can't remember Elsie from the main series, though I'm sure she does pop up too.

Story great as expected

Story was great as expected but with a slightly different flavor from the witch central books. Not a bad thing just different.

I do have to say the new reader threw me off a bit. She is a good reader but very hard to adapt after living and loving the characters as family for so long.

my version had many skips in it, I will be returning it. Hopefully they can get that fixed.

Love this series!

I will never understand why a perfect narrator for a series is changed. While the new one isn't awful (except for her narration of Lauren), it's just not the same. With that said I could deal with it until she made Lauren sound all nasally.
The emotion Deborah Geary puts into her stories are so wonderful. They really make you feel. So glad I stumbled upon them so many months ago.

Great book. Hoping Geary will produce more soon. I love this community and there are more stories not told.

Lizard's history

I read the book when it first came out. Recently purchased the audiobook. Like the characters of this author. This book gives more backstory to Lizard and Elsie. Lot of details about how they came to be part of witch central. Also about how Lizard came to work for/with Lauren. WitchLight Trilogy is a great sub-series of A Modern Witch series. Excellent narration. Now I'm off to listen to the entire series again.

I liked this book, the narrator was better to me the the up tight British we seem to have fat to much of

I found this book enjoyable, well worth the created.
As to the narrator, she did well. My fellow readers who did seem to like her, well what can I say. Lots of people seem to like the very thick British accented ladies who leave me very very cold
