Publisher's summary

Buck Reilly’s vacation in the Virgin Islands goes downhill fast when he witnesses a helicopter crash over the Sir Francis Drake Channel. Buck races to the rescue, but the lone survivor—a beautiful woman—has amnesia. When Buck learns the woman is Giselle Huibert, the first lady of France, who fled her husband while at the G8 Summit on St. Thomas for reasons she cannot remember, Buck has no choice but to try and help her. However, Giselle refuses to let him call the police—even when it becomes clear that men intending to kill them are hot on their trail.

When Giselle remembers the horrifying assault she witnessed her husband and his head of security commit, and the events that led to her helicopter crashing, she and Buck are forced to flee throughout the Virgin Islands, with no one to trust but a group of unlikely heroes. Fueled by their mutual passion, revenge against her husband, and their quest for the truth, Buck and Giselle turn the tables on their pursuers, but the final showdown rocks them to their core and challenges everything they believed to be true.

French royalty was a nice twist

Very good story, believable and kept me following closely. Buck could more cache stashes, backup money, small arms strategically placed around Virgin Islands where he spends his time.

Buck Riley wins again

I enjoyed the story, lots and ins and outs, and not sure who done it, but I sure would like to see him more on the water and looking for treasure rather than saving damsels in distress

another damsel in distress

Sadly, the adventures of treasure/archeological finds and flying restored classic water landing planes have all but disappeared from the series.
The original premise was intruiging, but has devolved from someone struggling to return and redefine his life after losing his company, his family, and rebooting his life as owner/pilot in a flight charter service in the Florida Keys, to a caricature man being led around by the nose by yet another 'beautiful' woman.
Now the books are all about finding, helping, bedding (foolish) women and island hopping in the Caribbean while using 'friends' resources to get by.
Hope the author revives this character/series, but this reader is done with this current (boring) Buck Reiley.
