An enjoyable book

Where are you, is a nicely written book and had such beautiful potential to be a truly wonderful romance novel.

Justine Eyre did a wonderful job narrating and I would definitely listen to her again. I could listen to her voice all day…and did LOL.

What I liked about this book is how refreshing it was to read, in this case listen to, a book that did not follow the same template for most lesbian romance novels I have read and/or listened to. Just for that I have to applaud the author. The characters were well done but I think the author had Erin come out of her shell a little to quick or more accurately moved that part of the story along to fast by having Erin becoming more social with no scenes of her refusing to do the things Gia wanted socially. Gia was a very believable outgoing opposite to Erin’s shrinking violet personality.

What I did not like about this book is mainly all the darn flashbacks. Sorry but I really do not much care for books that have tons of flashbacks especially long flashbacks which this book has a lot of especially in the first two thirds of the book. Another thing I did not like is how Gia was made to just up and leave. I can understand the “in the moment” rush to go home due to the circumstances learned later in the story but to never try to contact someone you “love” for ten years is one of the farfetched things in the book I find hard to believe and even though Erin tried to contact her to me she gave up to quickly but in all fairness this is the way the author wanted it so this is the way it happened.

With my dislike of flashbacks known the book was still interesting and enjoyable to listen to but, for me this would have been a lot better if all the flashbacks made up the first part of the book. The overall story was interesting even though some parts were a bit farfetched but it is a fictional story and in that respect anything becomes possible.
