Is the reader the problem?
The book is s decent work for lovers of British crime, but I think a reader with a graver delivery would complement it better. The reader is skilled, but uses a lilting, light tone that detracts from the subject matter, murder. I found myself unsure whether the author meant to be tongue in cheek, or it just sounded that way. I may have to read, rather than listen, to this series in order to form my own opinion.

Wonderful
Loved this story. What a great mystery that had me guessing wrong so many times. The narrator was berry good. Each personality shown through beautifully. The ending made me want the next one now. Shame on you author! 😈😈 way to keep your readers on their toes.

Great!
I love the characters in these books. The author has made them authentic and multidimensional. The dialogue has the dry humor you can imagine in a workplace. The plot is excellent and the story moves along such you hate to stop listening. The narrator is outstanding.

Another fun one
Brooke and Poole on another investigation, this time starting at the museum where Brooke’s wife works. Just can’t have an enjoyable night without finding a dead body. There’s relationship updates, car chases, missing brothers, missing mothers, stolen inheritance and so much more and is Brook breaking up the team???
