Publisher's summary

Volume 1 of When Darkness Falls: Terrifying True Stories sets the stage for an enthralling journey into the heart of darkness, where the line between myth and reality blurs. This initial collection introduces readers to a chilling array of encounters that defy rational explanation, each story a thread in the tapestry of the unknown.
The volume opens with a gripping narrative of a group of hikers in the Pacific Northwest who come face-to-face with Bigfoot, the legendary giant of the forest. Their harrowing experience, marked by an overwhelming sense of being watched and an inexplicable feeling of dread, sets the tone for the tales that follow.
As the pages turn, the darkness deepens with the story of the Hat Man, a sinister, shadowy figure who appears in the dead of night. Victims recount their paralysis of fear as this entity watches them from the foot of their beds, an experience that leaves them questioning their sanity.
The eerie encounters continue with the appearance of the Black-Eyed Kids, mysterious children with soulless, pitch-black eyes who appear at doorsteps asking to be let inside. Those who have faced them speak of an unshakable sense of danger and a compulsion to flee.
Through these stories, Volume 1 of When Darkness Falls not only seeks to entertain but also to explore the deeper questions of what lurks in the shadows of our world and our minds. It is an invitation to readers to confront their fears and to ponder the mysteries that remain unexplained.

New Series of Frightening Encounters

This is a great collection of terrifying encounters by an author new to me. The stories are a bit longer and very creepy. A second volume is coming, I will look forward to reading that one as well. I will probably skip the virtual voice narration for that one.

The audiobook uses virtual voice narration. The production has issues. Sections are repeated multiple times. One chapter is duplicated as well.
