Publisher's summary

An Amazon Charts and Wall Street Journal bestselling series.

Solving a decades-old disappearance sets Tracy Crosswhite on a dangerous collision course with the past in a pulse-pounding novel by New York Times bestselling author Robert Dugoni.

Detective Tracy Crosswhite has agreed to look into the disappearance of investigative reporter Lisa Childress. Solving the cold case is an obsession for Lisa’s daughter, Anita. So is clearing the name of her father, a prime suspect who became a pariah. After twenty-five years, all Anita wants is the truth—no matter where it leads.

For Tracy, that means reopening the potentially explosive investigations Lisa was following on the dark night she vanished: an exposé of likely mayoral graft; the shocking rumors of a reserved city councilman’s criminal sex life; a drug task force scandal compromising the Seattle PD; and an elusive serial killer who disappeared just as mysteriously as Lisa.

As all the pieces come together, it becomes clear that Tracy is in the midst of a case that will push her loyalties and her resilience to the limit. What she uncovers will come with a greater price than anyone feared.

This book series continues to impress

I now mark my calendar for when new Tracey Crosswhite books are released as I have come to love the characters and the various plots. This one was no different. I like that it began immediately after the conclusion of the last novel (and its plot played a small role in this story) and the characters are as fresh as ever. Ms. Sutton-Smith's narration is truly top class. She has a great grip on all the regular characters (I especially like her male voices) and she always fills each character with depth and uniqueness. As long as Mr. Dugoni churns out new stories, I'll be buying!

I enjoy this series

I don’t do many series. Things get to drawn out or repetitive. This one is different. Storylines are good and solid. Writing is done well and i like the narrator.

Another good one

Tracy Crosswhite does not disappoint. I enjoyed this book, just as I have done the rest. Dugoni can make a thread that allows the reader to get sucked in to what is going to happen next. I really like this series and recommend them to those I know.

Kept my interest

Found the story intriguing and wanted to know what was going to happen. Some parts were slow but all in all the story was different and kept my interest. The narrator was good.

Good enough...

Although not compelling, it kept me listening and certain aspect's interesting and/or well conceived.

Keep them coming!

I love the Tracey Crosswhite series. I hope the story continues. The characters are all amazing and I never want the story to end. The narrator is great she does a good job distinguishing between all the different voices even the male voices. This book was great the crooked cops and drug stories aren’t my favorite but the story was well written and I hope to see many more books in this series!

An excellent read

Dugoni has captured my attention more than once, but this book was well above par. The story unfolded in such a way that I was compelled to finish it in bed. Mind you that I had returned home after a three hour drive and was really tired. I hate giving away any plot details so I won't, but the book could have ended after the halfway mark like so many of these reads on Amazon. Dugoni chose to tell the full story for which I am grateful. This is a quality read.
