Truth!

Accepting Jesus Christ as Lord is only the beginning. What have you done with it? Chuck Missler always said this.. it’s not a Willy Wonka ticket to heaven when you say a “sinners prayer”. So much of what the church does is man made-just like the religious in Jesus’ day and yet we have been preached grace, grace, grace instead of obedience to God’s Word. Refreshing to hear a pastor share truth using the Bible and what God promises in His Word when we obey. A breath of fresh air in today’s culture.

Not a book! Merely a long tract.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

No. It was not a book - just a small booklet.

What was most disappointing about David Platt’s story?

There was nothing to it!

Did Lloyd James do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

N/A

Was What Did Jesus Really Mean When He Said Follow Me? worth the listening time?

No.

Any additional comments?

This is not a book! It is a small tract or booklet at best - not what I thought I was getting! I thought I was purchasing David Platt's book Follow Me, not a tract based on the book.

Poor!

Very short. Nothing new thought out. Very disappointed. Slammed out a book for the money and keep a commitment of some kind to publisher. Rediculous

Jesue body

the narrator was excellent I love Lloyd James. However the author should have went into the presence of the Eucharist. He talks about John gospel the bread of life discourse. if one bring up that gospel passage he has to translate the proper words Jesus said to eat my body. the author didn't finish the rest of it. and believing as Scott Hahn a Convert to Catholicism when he was in the Protestant church trying to translate the passage he could not make sense of it unless he accepted the Catholic Church's teaching of the true presence of the Eucharist I challenge the author and any who know that passage to read it in its entirety. Jesus says unless you eat my body and drink my blood one does not have life in them. He's talking about his litteral body. the author took an easy and general way out saying Jesue meant act as Jesus does and do as Jesus Does. That sums up all of Jesus teachings but this particular passage talk specifically about the real presence in the Eucharist many of the followers left him they could not understand or accept this teaching that a follower must actually eat Jesus body and drink his blood this is one Passage Christians who do not believe in the true presence of the Eucharist cannot get around with false interpretation or error of Doctrine. If refer back to the Greek words Jesus becomes more descriptive saying too chew munch . drink from the cup of his blood as liquid in the cup. It is obvious Jesus was talking about more than a sign of his body and more than the author States doing his good works. the author made sense of how to follow Jesus however he must be a non-catholic Christian. A non-catholic Christians have truth but limited truth the Catholic church is the only one who has the fullness of the truth. Hence the bread of life discourse that the author refers to in his book. All non-catholic Christians believe Jesus bread and blood are symbols signs of a covenant. Then why didn't Jesus raise the bread at the Last Supper and say this is a sign of my body this is a symbol of my blood? he didn't say that he said this is my body this is my blood..... note to the author excellent book however don't be fearful of the truth. It would be better in the context of the church meaning the whole Catholic Apostolic Church. One Church one body one Christ same church it was yesterday today and in the future.. .
I invite non-catholic Christians to not become defensive. But first listen to Scott Hahn's conversion story. Listen to that initially and don't be afraid blessings on Easter Sunday
