Publisher's summary

A royal tour.

A hidden settlement.

A deadly new power.

Cadence just wants to help Airlie. Instead she’s trapped in a double life at the Guild. And with nomad delegations arriving for a royal tour, everything is only growing more complicated.

As the threat from both the raiders and the fallen kingdom grows, Cadence and Zeke’s charade is stretched to a breaking point as they fight for their friends. But how can Cadence keep everyone safe when she’s growing less and less sure of who she can trust?

Separated from her sister, Airlie has never felt more helpless. As she uncovers more about their heritage, her fear for Cadence grows. Cadence is ignorant of the danger lurking inside her, but Airlie can do nothing to warn her. Desperately searching for a way to help Cadence from afar, Airlie must find a way to unleash her own power before it’s too late for both of them.

Melanie Cellier paints a beautiful world full of wonder. You can quickly get to know the characters and just the need to knows of history in the first chapters.

Excellent second installment in the series

The sister aspect of this segment in the saga was well-written and added to the book. So often a dual point of view isn't carried off as well as the reader hopes, but it was a success here. I warmed to Airlie as a result of her POV, and enjoyed Cadence's POV. I feel the supporting cast is developed with finesse. An enjoyable part two! Well-narrated!

Great story!

I love the relationship between the sisters it's strong but not perfect and having them spend some time apart and understand themselves better will help their relationship even more. There were lots of things learned and new friends made as they both found their way back together. The ending was not a cliff hanger per say but the beginning of a new adventure for this fun group of people.

well I'll be damned

I do not know how this writer just gets me trapped into this land time and time again. the characters are literally well written and believable based on their age of how they might think act and what they'd say. I'm just fabaglast that every time I get to a point it's the end of the book

And the Story Continues

In this book, I’m enjoying the author’s creativity and ingenuity, not to mention her story line. She is bringing up things I’ve never heard of or read about in any other book. I love the characters and their interplay. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.
