Publisher's summary

Beatrice Johnson Greene, a bestselling crime writer, has an unusual favor to ask. When a chance encounter brings Emma Fern into her life, she thinks she's found just the person for the job. Soon Beatrice will wish they'd never met.

For Emma, desperate to please, it's an offer she can't refuse. All she has to do is lend her name to Beatrice's next novel, her first in a new genre. But when the book becomes a huge triumph, Emma finds herself the toast of the literary world. From nobody to somebody without writing a word.

It's her first taste of success, and now Emma wants more. This is her masterpiece, after all. It says so on the cover.

Only Beatrice knows the truth. And surely there's a solution to that.

Whats Sounds Good Aint Always Good

I absolutely loved this book I found it very hard to hate the main character , Emma. The name is even sweet, Emma Faust...it's like I'm rooting for her all through the book and the more I read it the more I'm like hoping and wishing that she gets away with what she's doing. I feel like everybody else in the book was doing her wrong?...Beatrice/Hannah /Jim /Carroll. Alison she 🎸 too. I love strong female characters. That's it! I don't want to give away the story... it's an awesome read and audible very well written and great performance.
Natalie Barelli you did this book girl!
Kate Rudd you 🎸 this narration....I see this being a major motion picture starring Meryl Streep as Beatrice and Uma Thurman as Emma Faust.

Read, don't listen!

Is there anything you would change about this book?

The narrator!!!!

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

It was implausible, but fun.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

She spoke like someone just learning english, over enunciating all consonants. It was strange. Really bad.

Could you see Until I Met Her being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

No

Any additional comments?

It would be a fun listen with a different reader.

Bad performance

So difficult to listen to the narrator. Stilted and boring. Story was ok in spite of the distracting performance

It was ... ok?

It was a little too drawn out, not as gripping as I would hope. This was my first book on audible so it was ok for being free but I wouldn’t waste a credit on it.

intriguing and well-paced

At about 3 hours in I was self-satisfied with the plot, the twists, and the character development - I actually thought the story was wrapping up. When I realized there were still 5 hours left, I was very concerned this would turn into an overdone slog after a very promising beginning. Thankfully, I was wrong. This was incredibly well-done on just about every level. The excellent narration was the icing on the cake. (P.S. As someone peripherally involved in the writing industry, this story was very anxiety-inducing. But quite worth it!)

Interesting twist

I will say it moved along well and narration was good. B+ overall. I enjoyed that characters and their development was well worth the listen.

 this was an OK book

I didn’t find this book as exciting as other reviewers, but it did entertain me. The narrator wasn’t that great, and the story was very unbelievable. Good thing it was free to read and listen to through Kindle unlimited

Get this book!

I've read (listened to) hundreds of books on Audible and this one was surprisingly good - - especially since it was less than $13! At first the narrator's voice was mildly irritating, but by the end, I thought it was perfect for the novel. This was much better than a lot of big names. Kind of a mix between Gone Girl and The Talented Mr. Ripley. Get it!!!

Narrator was the weak point

The story was good but it was hard to listen to the narration. The speech was stilted and at times almost sounded auto-tuned. Very strange and detracted from the story.

Great from start to finish!

It keeps you on the edge in every chapter. I love the sarcasm in the writing and narration.
