A Winner!

A great Alpha and Omega story. There are lots of twists and turns to keep you on the edge of your seat. Caleb and Victor have quite to journey to go through to get to their HEA but it is all worth it in the end. Each is just what the other needs. Randi Johnson does a wonderful job of giving voice to these characters. I really enjoyed this audiobook!

Thanks for the ACX

Thank you for the ACX Audio, I voluntarily give this book an honest review. This was a great emotional story from loss and new love. When Matt is losing everything he meets Alistair. His business and home life life was going down the drain he stopped believing in love and that was his business. Alistair was running from the hurt of his past only to have it catch up with him when he was just making a new life with Matt. When rumor mills start can Matt look past the lies to see the truth or loss out on happiness? This was a wonderful audio and Randi Johnson is a wonderful story teller.

Ok story.

The story seemed ok. I actually thought the first book of this series was decent. Not sure if it was the narrator or not. I have listened to him with other books and he is not bad. I just sometimes get confused as to which characters are speaking.

I was given this book by request for my unbiased review.

Enjoyable story

The story is about a romance between shifter and human. There's problems and mysteries surrounding our MCs and you feel compelled to find out what they are and how the romance develops. All the story line seemed to resolve OK but there are two niggling things: Kenneth's explanation of why he was so mean to Alistair did not make sense. And he was really mean to the point where I wanted Alistair to just punch the guy (regardless of the consequences). And then I didn't like the fact that Will was out of a job (his choice but still) and it kind of sucks! Matthew should have at least talked to Will before hand. These are just minor things. Overall, it's an enjoyable story.

Enjoyable Story.

This story was enjoyable. It could have been better. The complaint I have is, the narration. The narrator needs to work on his changing of voices. He practically used the same voice for each character. I found myself a lot wondering which character was speaking now, and who's who.🤔

A sweet, satisfying story

This is nice, lighthearted book about two hurting men finding their happily ever after. The narration is excellent and really adds to the experience.

Twice Bitten

A love story that will break your heart and sew it back together. I absolutely loved these two and their immediate chemistry is explosive. I will definitely be looking for more in this series.
The narrator did a fabulous job! For a narrator without many books out he has came out with a bang and will do great with this career.

Narrator was Excellent!

A complimentary audio was provided via Audiobook Boom in exchange for an honest review.

Narration - 5 stars. Randi Johnson is a new to me narrator and I thought he did a wonderful job. The *story* was a problem for me, but the narration was spot on. Randi was able to bring different voices to each character and that is possibly the #1 checkbox for a good story. But not only did Randi change his voice, he brought real life to the characters. I hate monotone narration, which are dry and boring. I want emotion and inflection, a voice that goes up and down and sounds like a real person speaking. Randi Johnson did all of that and I know that it was his narration that allowed me to continue with this story.

Story - 3 stars. I can see what the author was trying to do with this story and it wasn't a bad story, it just wasn't well edited, plotted out. I felt that the story was all over the place. It started off great: the two MCs, Alistair and Matt, are so completely opposites of each other and have a very sweet meet cute moment. I love a nice, short, harmless romance, with good characters and a predictable plot. These types of stories serve a real purpose in the genre - it helps us readers recharge our drama/angst battery and put a smile on our face. :) And Twice Bitten did that, up to a point. As I said, the beginning worked but then as the characters start to date and then be intimate, I was confused about the world they lived in.

Alistair is a werewolf, and Matt (according to the blurb) is an omega. But then Alistair reveals himself to Matt as a shifter and Matt is confused and surprised. Why? If Matt is an omega, doesn't he know about werewolves? Can he not shift? That isn't explained in Twice Bitten. This is book 2 in the series so perhaps I needed to read book 1 to get the full world building, I don't know. But I was confused about this aspect to them personally and to their relationship.

While there are more examples I could give about confusing content, I will leave you with this last one. When Alistair and Matt have been together for a while and when Matt becomes pregnant, their relationship goes on a sort of downward spiral. They are shocked and not ready, but still want to be with each other. The part I was confused about, or maybe more shocked, is how Alistair didn't share with Matt his past relationship and what happened. Matt wants to be close to Alistair and he wants answers to something someone told him (don't want to give away too much), but Alistair isn't sharing and I thought he would have. Yes it was a hard time in his life, but his secrecy was pushing Matt away and he could have shared a part of the story without going into all the detail yet if he wasn't ready.

I highly recommend this narrator. As for the story, it wasn't great for me but I did enjoy it. The characters were good, just could have been fleshed out more. Matt is burned out by his match making site, so it made him kind of jaded in the love department. But when he sees/meets Alistair, his cynicism is thrown out the window, lol. These two waste no time getting together and that was refreshing to see. Yes they had their relationship hiccups but in the end everything works out.

Second bite's the best

I really enjoyed this story. Sadly, Alistair Hall, a wolf shifter, lost his mate and relocated to a small town to work and heal. What he didn't expect was to fall in love again or be faced with a pregnant mate again. Fate has a way of setting you up and letting you fall once more. Meeting Matthew, the divorced "love connection" sight owner, blew all of Alistair's plans of moping around out of the way and opened him up to love once more despite his attempt to stay hidden in his heart. This is a fun, sexy story of love, rumors and a growing wolf pack. This is Randi Johnson's best work yet for bringing the charactors out of the pages and into your life. I highly recommend this book and look forward to Randi's next read and Preston Walker's next book.

Good story

The story was good. I have not read or listened to the first book but the story was written to where I did not have to. Both characters had to overcome their past so they could have a future together. Narrator did a great job.
