Move over 007!

I loved this book from the very first chapter. The synergy of narrator to subject was instant and I fell into this story right away. I never wanted to leave.

The narration was easily the best I've ever heard. For me, Taylor ranks right up there with Davina Porter. Excellence on a stick!!

The story centered around a female James Bond set in the swinging 60's. The heroine, the illustrious Touchfeather, was a take-no-prisoners femme fatale of the highest order working for a British intelligence agency. Her day job as an 'air hostess' kept her cover and at night, the shenanigans began. And what shenanigans!

This was a mystery, wrapped in a thriller, inside a love story. It had light moments, it had serious moments, it had dark moments. Do yourself a favor and get to know Katie Touchfeather and her world.

Reminiscent of Austin Powers

This is a fun listen set in the 1960's. Typically I listen to contemporary stories, so this was a little outside my norm. I found the action to be very reminiscent of an Austin Powers story, or James Bond meeting Stephanie Plum. The book is full of some unexpected twists, sexual innuendo, and non-stop adventure. I really enjoyed the narrator with all of her various characters. I requested a review copy audiobook and have voluntarily written this review. I will definitely listen to more books by both the author and narrator in the future as both are very talented.

60's espionage at it's finest and quite cute!

An interesting bit of political intrigue this was. The prologue has a warning of sorts that this novel was originally written in the free love 60’s and that language and perceptions would reflect such. I found it fairly enjoyable and thought about the 60’s when we stumbled over such areas. The protagonist Katy Touchfeather via the narrator was also a joy to listen to. I found myself smiling several times at her reactions and approaches to situations. Quite the girl that Katy. I thought the book a mix of Emma Peel from the Avengers and The Man from U.N.C.L.E., definitely tongue-in-cheek espionage. I liked the book and enjoyed the listen. This audiobook was given by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review via Audiobook Boom.

Touchfeather!

I want more! I loved this book. It grabbed me from the very beginning. Katy Touchfeather is definitely entertaining. The best way I could describe her is, if 007 and Stephanie Plum had a child, it might be her. It wasn't as comedic as Stephanie Plum, nor as serious as 007. She is also very fearless, almost to the point of crazy. It had humor, action, mystery, and everything in between.

A fun retro spy adventure

I had no idea this was actually written in the sixties when I started this book, and it was definitely reads differently than a book written now about the time. It was a cool window into both the time and a great spy thriller. Katy is a great protagonist and the novel is fun well paced ride. Helen Taylor brings all the characters to life and does a great job narrating. The book is an a near counterpart to an old James Bond movie, and will entertain anyone who enjoyed the old Bond movies.

Good

An interesting plot of a spy in the 60’s. Good intrigue and mayhem along the way. Good characters. The audio got the different characters with her voice, well done. Given audio for my voluntary review and my honest opinion

Touchfeather

At first glance all you notice is a book that was written in the 60’s and you think is this even relevant today. I must say this book not only surprised me it was fantastic! Katy is like a female bond and the story is so classic 007 style. There are only a few details in the book that date it. I loved her cover story as a flight attendant (air hostess). Not only does she get to see the world but she gets to save it behind the scenes. I truly loved the story it was so hard to put down! Great job on the narration.

Touchfeather

This book was great! I loved the accent of the narrator and the little quips that are said. A nice little mystery but not too much that you are tense trying to figure it out. Very enjoyable. I only hope that more of these are narrated in the future.

Serious spy novel, not a parody

This book was a great surprise. I had no idea what to expect, and I thought at first it would be a parody of a spy novel, but it was a legitimate spy novel in its own right. Katie Touchfeather was a delightful protagonist. The story takes place in the 1960s, and it was written at that time as well. It's interesting to hear the language of the time, if a little jarring at times. Interesting how things have changed.

If you like thrillers and action books, you will love this book. The narrator was exceptional and brought the characters to life. I was provided with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I hope they unearth more books by this author.
