Publisher's summary

An enchanting new royal romance from New York Times best-selling author Rachel Hauck.

Daffodil Caron is not a princess, even though she once dreamed of being one. After all, she grew up as a playmate to royal princes, running through the halls of Perrigwynn Palace and dining with the queen. But the day she stumbled upon a royal secret, everything changed.

Flash forward 18 years, and Daffy’s living a sweet, non-royal life. A skilled art curator for the Royal Trust, she has friends, a flat in the heart of the city, and a handsome, successful fiancée. The last person on her mind is Gus, a prince she once called her best mate.

HRH Prince Augustus is no longer “Prince Pudgy,” as caricaturized by the press, he’s charming and gorgeous, possessing a world-famous smile. But when he’s jilted at the altar by an American heiress as millions of people around the world watched, the spare heir to Lauchtenland’s ancient House of Blue escapes, finding solace on a Florida beach.

A year as a regular bloke allows him to rethink his purpose. He’s half decided his calling is to pour pints at a tiki bar, rather than serving his country and the Family.

Until an accident on the beach with a Frisbee changes his course.

Despite his long hair and beard, Daffy recognizes her prince, and their childhood friendship is renewed. She assures Gus Lauchtenland needs him, giving him the courage to return home.

When Daffy and Gus find themselves on assignment to Hadsby Castle in preparation for his brother’s wedding, their friendship blooms into affection.

But Gus cannot, will not, trust his heart again. Daffy’s engaged. And she also remains a royal family outcast because she knows the Queen’s secret.

When affection grows into love and secrets are exposed, trust is destroyed. Gus must choose which is stronger: the lies of his past or the hope of his future. And Daffy must face every fear to prove she will forever love a prince.

“Another compelling royal story by the master of princely tales!” (Susan May Warren, USA Today best-selling, RITA award-winning novelist)

Jenny’s review

To Love A Prince is very interesting in that if everything can go wrong it can in this story with Daffy Caron and Prince Gus. I enjoyed their turn to fall in love but I tell you it’s all over and will definitely keep you tuned in if you listen to the audio version of which I did. :)

A fun royal romance!

This was such a fun royal romance! I absolutely fell in love with Gus and Daffodil’s story! The narrator was just perfect. Anyone who loves a good clean, Christian romance would love this! I enjoyed this book so much I plan to listen/read again!

Rachel's best yet!
Joyful and full of faith, this charmer will not disappoint! A wholesome love story that speaks both of romance and God's perfect love for His children.

Awesome!

I was skeptical, as is sometimes the case when introduced to a new author. I am so glad I purchased this book! It wove faith and fiction masterfully. Looking forward to the next in the series! Great job Rachel Hauck! The narrator was excellent as well! I highly recommend.

Not to be missed

Hauck has written another captivating book! I loved meeting new characters and seeing references to many other characters and settings from her other books. The story of Prince Gus and Daffy is both relevant and timeless. The struggle with self worth is real. I am eagerly awaiting book 2.

Amazing

This story was fantastic! I wish I could give it more stars across the board! And the Narrator only made it even more beautiful. While the story was packed full of relatable characters, a beautiful kingdom, sweet romance, and secrets, the narrator brought it to life in such an amazing way.

My Very First Book by this Author

My very first book by this author. I have been wanting a chance to try her books because I have heard/seen a lot about her books. I listened to the audiobook and I loved it! The narrator was excellent and the story itself was so good. I loved the idea of the young prince Gus and Daffy playing together and was best friends when they were young. It reminded me of the verse in the Bible
Galatians 4:1
Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all.
Well skip ahead a few years and they run into each other again. Now Daffy feels like she is not good enough for a Prince but what girl wouldn’t want to be a Princess? A whole lot of things happens in the story that I won’t go into but believe me, you don’t want to miss this contemporary love story. A little mystery, romance, forgiveness and a little spiritual aspect, all of it kept me listening past my bedtime. I’m now ready to listen or read my next Rachel Hauck’s book.
I received an audiobook from the author but was not required to write a positive review. All opinions are my own.
