Publisher's summary

In the latest riveting thriller from James Rollins, the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Sigma Force series, an international research station in the Coral Sea comes under siege during a geological disaster that triggers massive quakes, deadly tsunamis, and volcanic eruptions. To stop the world from burning, it’s up to Sigma Force to uncover a secret buried at the heart of our planet.

The Titan Project—an international research station off the coast of Australia—discovers a thriving zone of life in an otherwise dead sea. The area teems with a strange bioluminescent coral that defies science, yet holds great promise for the future. But the loss of a military submarine in the area triggers a brutal attack and sets in motion a geological disaster that destabilizes an entire region.

Massive quakes, volcanic eruptions, and deadly tsunamis herald a greater cataclysm to come—for something is stirring miles under the ocean, a threat hidden for millennia.

As seas turn toxic and coastlines burn, can Sigma Force stop what has been let loose—especially as an old adversary returns, hunting them and thwarting their every move? For any hope of success, Commander Gray Pierce must search for a key buried in the past, hidden deep in Aboriginal mythology. But what Sigma could uncover is even more frightening—something that will shake the very foundations of humanity.

Outstanding

Another excellent tale by an excellent writer, read by an excellent narrator. Probably one of the most immersive series out there.

Narration is jarring at times

Story was enjoyable but the narration was odd at times and transitions were very abrupt

An entertaining if fanciful book

Overall I was entertained by the book. However there were a lot of characters to keep track of and I found myself loosing track of who was who in the zoo. They did mention during the intro that there was a pdf to download with all the characters, and maps and stuff, but I wanted to listen to an action book at the gym, not embark on a research project. I would have preferred good character development on a smaller number of characters so I could keep track of it in my head rather than requiring a supplement. The narrator is really tough for me to listen to. I've listened to him on other James Rollins novels and I always cringe. At times, changes in cadence and inflection seem more random than purposeful, to the point of being distracting. Other times he's overly dramatic. And still other times, it sounds like he's reading to a group of 4 year-olds, trying to instill a sense of awe and wonder and failing.

Totally Addicted

I love the Sigma Force Series, I can hardly wait for the next book. I’m addicted to the fast pace and historical facts that are intertwined into the story!

James Rollins…Always gets you thinkin

I love Christian Baskous as narrator for James Rollins books. He brings The characters come alive with different voices/accents. Each character sounds like they like in my head. He brings the story alive and many cannot. I have been a fan of Sigma books since 2000. Love James Rollins’ action books

Great story but too much detail

This story starts off with a great prologue. It defines the parameters of things to come, but, all too soon the story becomes muddled with a plethora of characters and their stories within the main story.
I love Rollins and have all the books of the series but this one was very hard to follow and I found much of the superfluous information boring and confusing. I sincerely hope his next book is less involved with character painting and more to the point.

Action adventure based on true science.

I love these books. They stretch what could be about actual science. They keep my attention and I learn things. The heroes save the world 🤩

Great story

Another great signal force novel. Extremely enjoyable listen. It was so good that I couldn’t stop listening until the very end. For anyone who enjoys the signal force adventures this is a story you’ll enjoy.
