Excellent 4 Star Listen

A J Tata brings back Jake Mahegan for his second book in the series. Jake is an ex-Special Forces soldier still doing work for the government. He's on the trail of an Army Reservist geologist who is forced to steal natural gas after some bad guys kidnap her daughter. The deeper Jake digs the more there seems to be to the plot than just making big money. Lots of fast paced action and suspense in this political thriller. Plus we get more of Jake's back story. Can't wait for the next book!

Jonathan Davis was outstanding with the delivery of the story

Good story but...

I wish that the author knew the difference between BURST MDDE and SEMIAUTO. SEMIAUTO means that one pull of the trigger shoots ONE bullet. BURST MODE means that one pull of the trigger shoots THREE bullets. Otherwise, I liked the story.

Absolutely amazing!

I love how this series is 60% badass and 40% history and science lesson! Narrator is in the top 10 as well!

Engaging Thriller

I found the story quite engaging. Just when you think things are coming to a head...there are other twists. Very good from that perspective. On a personal note, I did not like the narration as much. That is more a personal thing than anything else. Some narrators resonate more than others with me. Still a good listen though. Main character can pretty much do it all.

Never a dull moment. Love the twists & turns..

Likes- awesome character development, highly inventive plot, lots of Jake Mahegan.

Dislikes- Hmmm, searched hi & lo, but CAN’T seem to find any.

Continuing with Mahegan’s scrapes, And loving it.

Oh great presentation!

great series

I love this series, it can carry on a little too much in some parts but I found that it just builds the suspense that much more... loved books 1 and 2 now on to book 3

Revenge Long Over Due

If you could sum up Three Minutes to Midnight in three words, what would they be?

Steady, evolving, focused.
If you like a tale that unfolds and gives you a building picture of why, then this is for you.
If you must have fast action, this is not in that category. Yes, the B. General has the story unveiling, and returning back to hero’s history so his story moves forward.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

I love reader J.D., and purchased all 4 books in this series on Audible sale .
Besieged is the 4th book, but Audible didn’t note it that way.
(Mr. Davis reads lots of SciFi, but I am not a fan, so I get as many mystery/ action books he reads as I can.) His English to Spanish is his forte as well as a good female voice.
My all time fave, Sandra Browns Mean Streak, shows off his full range.

Since this is written by a retired B.general, action is clear. Note, I do use 1.25x speed to match the author’s intent.
This story was on a slower pace than book 1, but told the back story to our hero. Hero’s history is unfolded as the story progresses and it ties much of this tale together.

Which scene was your favorite?

“Revenge is best served cold”. I loved when the villain and our hero traded insults. Most satisfying!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, as you are compelled to find out about each of the characters. The author uses flash backs in this tale, so if you are impatient, this could seem a bit slow for you.
Publishers summery gives good details, and the sample on Audible is good.

See Waynes comments on this reader from James Grippando latest book. It is not to be missed and it’s on my wishlist.
