Better to read

Sometimes I feel that audio books don’t do the story justice. And that is the case here. I loved the stories but I should have read them on paper.

Classic Eric LaRocca!

I first read/listen to Eric LaRocca in horror short story anthologies- in fact, he appears in several of editor Ellen Datlow's "Best Horror of The Year" anthologies that now consist of fifteen years and one "Best of the Best Horror of the Year" . From these anthologies I have discovered many authors I had not been familiar with and Eric LaRocca is one them that I have now devoured; have read everything that he has penned and published. I would be safe to aliken LaRocca to Ligotti, Brian Everson, Palahniuk even Kurt Vonnegut in fact with his often satirical moments to lighten the moment just enough to set the audience up for a gut punch of terror, this is a well honed talent only the very best storytellers can achieve keeping the story held together with excellent pace, intelligent congruence- most importantly the reader fully engaged and brimming with suspense - just like the for mention epic writers do on a consistent basis. Easy five stars for seven perfect short stories that hook, reel and bring us in only released when the last paragraph is finished. Excellent narration.
