From USA Today best-selling author Lacy Williams comes a marriage of convenience story.

Love in Wyoming

What did you love best about The Wrangler's Inconvenient Wife?

I loved the typical story of country boy meets city girl with all the complications that that entails.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Wrangler's Inconvenient Wife?

When Fran was washing and cutting his hair. This action I think started Edgar on his way of falling in love with Fran.

Which scene was your favorite?

It is a toss up between the hair washing scene and the whipping Fran was getting and how Edgar came to her rescue and protected her with his body.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Love in Wyoming

Any additional comments?

New author for me but the narrator is one of my favorites, Laural Merlington. Will definately read more from this author.

Wyoming Legacy - Heartwarming

The Wrangler's Inconvenient Wife starts with Fran Morris fleeing with Emma, her little sister from Memphis and Mr. Underwood. Mr. Underwood has been obsessing on Emma and has taken inappropriate advances toward her. Because of his position and money, Fran and Emma have no parents and brother to protect their honor. Her only option is to leave everything behind and hopes that Mr. Underwood does not follow.

Edgar White, rancher, wrangler, and resident of Bear Creek, Wyoming, was on his way to load up the family's cattle. Noticing that there is a split in the railroad track, he had to warned the train from derailing. From the instant that Edgar and Fran's eyes met, they felt a connection to each other, until he and the Bear Creek found out that Fran has lied about her age as being an orphan to stay with her sister Emma and to escape from Mr. Underwood.

Edgar didn't want anything to do with her but he couldn't allow Fran to stay at the saloon and become one of the saloon girls. He married her with the intent of in name and to protect Fran and her sister, Emma. Edgar does not trust women especially after his experience with his mother and being used by another woman. As far as he is concerned, all women were of the same cloth.

Fran wanted to prove that she will be a good wife to Edgar and set to prove that she will not lie to him and be a burden to him. She has planned to prove that to him during the cattle trail. It doesn't help when she is keeping secrets from Edgar.

The Wrangler's Inconvenient Wife is a heartwarming story. Fran has never lost faith in God. She's protective on people she cares about. She has never wavered even when Edgar tried so hard to ignore her and tried to break all ties to her. Edgar has a wounded heart but he is a good and decent man. He is responsible and tried to do what's right. Readers/Listeners cannot help but love these two characters.

This story is well written by the author. The background of the story and the environment in which the characters interact is very believable in this time and place.

The narrator, Laural Merlington does a very good job in narrating the story. The voices she provided are very distinguishable from each of the characters. Fran sounds so proper and yet humble. I love the emotions that the narrator gives to Edgar when he is trying to deny his feeling for Fran and also the fear that he might lose Fran.

I was given this audiobook by the author via Audiobook Blast in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated or influenced in any way in writing this review.

Such a Great Story!

Would you listen to The Wrangler's Inconvenient Wife again? Why?

Yes. It was a story that had a lot of heart. The characters are complex and there is great attraction but a lot of distrust and uncertainty, as well.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Edgar. He took so much on himself. I liked how much he grew in this story.

What about Laural Merlington’s performance did you like?

Her performance felt right for the book. She had the right amount of emotions for the situation she was reading about.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. I didn't get to listen to it all in one sitting, but one evening I did stay up late listening because I just had to know what happened next!

Any additional comments?

This is a great series!

Clean romance

The author provided me with a complimentary copy of this audiobook with no expectation of a review. I loved this clean romance. I couldn't put it down and finished it in one listening session. I'd listened to the first few books in this series and it was nice to have some of the other characters from previous books in this one (at least by Edgar mentioning them even if they weren't all actually in this book).

Wild ride in love and adventure!

Edgar White gets his story! He is the third son and the one who has gone from fun-loving to serious hard working cowboy. He thinks he has everything in life until he finds himself married to a stranger due to his sense of protecting two young women who have nothing and are keeping a secret.

Fran and her sister are running away from a danger they cannot fight alone. They jump on the "orphan" train even though Fran is "of age" to find a new life and hide from their past. Fran is willing to do anything to keep her little sister safe even marrying the grumpy trail boss she just met.

Throw in a train wreck and cattle drive "race" to get the cattle to the buyer on time along with a group of young rough-riding cowboys and you have a great story of action, fear, growing from past pain, and fighting for love.

This is the 3rd book of the Lacy Williams series and I am loving it more and more! Each book can be read as a stand-alone, but if you read the series, you get a beautiful, rich story of this very interesting and unconventional family. Looking forward to number 5!

Enjoyed -Great, Mostly Innocent Historical Romance

This Historical Romance set in Wyoming.

Fran Morris is trying to protect your sister from the unwanted advances of a "suitor" back east. They pose as orphans and get on the train headed west. When the train is derails they are found out to be impostors.

When their only choice for employment is the local brothel. Edgar White marries Fran. They understand it is 'in name only' wedding to save the ladies from the fate of a brothel.

As the entire family, including Fran, moves cattle across state lines, Fran & Edgar learn more about each other, their attraction to one another grows and she does her best to flirt with him.

This nicely set historical, western romance is enjoyable without a lot of the mature themes & strong language that is prevalent in books, contemporary and historical, that is so prevalent today.

Laural Merlington is very good performing this book. Very good job and four stars out of five.

Nothing to warn
Rating: PG
