I really enjoyed the Spoken Mage series; the characters had depth and passion and the action kept you on edge. I look forward to listening, via audiobook, to more series by Melanie Cellier.

Loved this story! The voice acting performance was great as well. Can’t wait to go on to the Hidden Mage series!

good enough

It was good enough to keep me invested, but I found myself irritated at the lack of development between the main and prince. Sure, a few sentences were given to create interaction, but it wasn't near developed for what they ended up becoming. At times the story became bogged down by endless inner dialogue, but still worth the read, if you can get passed the rushed beginning and draw-out climax. It became hard to read in the middle. But I am glad I stuck with it and found the happily ever after they deserved.

Exciting

It was great read. Fantasy and magic go hand in hand. Recommend for young readers too.

New favorite

This is one of my new favorite series! There are so many unexpected twists and turns. The reader brings the story to life. Thank you Ms. Cellier!

Good book, narrated well...

The book series itself I enjoyed very much. It was an interesting take on a magic system, characters that you enjoy, and a setting that was interesting. The narrator performed well, good distinctions between most characters that I knew right away who was talking. My one issue with the narration, is that words with "R" came out sounding as a "W". Lots of "agweement", "weally", and a character that is "Gwiffith". I know it's petty, but it really did take away a little bit. I didn't quite get used to it. Other than that, she did a great job, she brought life into the characters, even made them sound as if they were breathing heavy when appropriate. Pronunciations have always been something that bothered me, so if that isn't one of your things, then you'll be just fine.

Overall, I would recommend the series and encourage anyone to listen to it. Just wemember to be weady for those r's.
