The dramatic finale does not disappoint
Can’t say enough good about this book and this series as a whole. Following the Recon Marines and witnessing their adaptation to this wild world has been an awesome experience, and the life lessons tucked between the battles always hit home.
This book ties up a few of the main arcs while also dropping some massive worldbuilding glimpses that I seriously hope get explored more in the future.

Awesome story great narration.

Fantastic ending to a fantastic series. I got quite emotional near the end. Writing it outstanding. Obviously Mark Boyett is a good tier narrator as usual as well.

Epic Finale
Rock of Battle was set up to be an epic end cap on this arc of The Lost and it did not disappoint. The action was non stop and the deaths that occurred were meaningful and gut wrenching at times. This was a great finale and well worth the purchase and time invested.

Well now I am bummed out!
I didn’t realize until the epilogue and then the AAR at the end that this is the last book in the series. There is SO many stories left in the universe Pete has created with The Lost, and so many things unexplained and left dangling. I’d feel cheated if I didn’t like this series so much that I’m grateful for what we did get.
If you’ve made it through the other books you of course need to listen to The Rock of Battle.
The narrator has been great on pretty much everything he performs, and all of The Lost books including this one are no exception.
Hopefully we will meet again recon marines. It was a good ride.
