Publisher's summary

Once upon a time, in a parallel universe, there existed the continent of Triton....

The Beast has risen!

Airen is at war. The queen is dead. The coven is incomplete. And things are uncertain under the sea.

Now, the unicorns and mermaids and witches and warriors and the strangers from other lands all must band together to face the Beast and save Triton.

The unions have been realized. Silence and Mars, True and Farah, Cassius and Elena, and Aramus and Ha-Lah are at their fullest powers.

But the gods require sacrifice. The sacrifice of pure love. If it isn’t given, the Beast will prevail, and Triton will fall.

It cannot be escaped; they must use all their might and magic....

The Rising is nigh!

5 stars! This series has it all!

Adventure, love, light, darkness, hope, heartbreak, this series has it all. Kristen Ashley does it again. An amazing read that had me on the edge of my seat, swooning over the love, letting out my own Naderi battle cry, and bawling into my box of Kleenex. I loved it and the multitude of narrators that brought these amazing characters to life. <3

This series is amazing and emotional. I highly recommend it. I cried on the train on my commute home. Oh, why Teddie?

EPIC

I made it to the end. It seemed like such an arduous task when I first started. I have the same complaints that I had at the beginning of the series. While I LOVE the multiple narrators, It would have been less confusing if one narrator narrated a character throughout the entire book and series. There are so many characters in this story. I felt like I needed to write them down to keep track of whose who, especially the secondary characters. Then to have different narrators narrate, their voices made it even more difficult. Especially, when it came to the evil priests.

The story was epic and far bigger than anything I have read by KA before. I think she did a great job in the world and the characters. It fizzled out, in the end, a bit, and the huge climax that these four books were leading up to wasn’t that huge, in my opinion. KA is more a character writer and a relationship writer. The action was there, but it is character-driven, which is ok because, for the most part, I love her characters. That is when they aren’t all carbon copies of the same characters from book to book, which she has done in other books.

My favorite characters in this series, were Silence, Teddy, and Cassius. Silence because she had the most growth and went from a mouse to a lion. Teddy because he is the epitome of self-sacrifice and true bravery. Cassius because he is the perfect alpha male. He knows when to step in and be protective and when to let you fight by his side.

My least favorite were True, Aramus, and Ha-Lah. True because he is just blah boring. It got a little better once he got some but not much. Aramus because he is just a jackass to his wife. Ha-Lah because she is a ridged snobby B.

I am looking forward to seeing more with Selena and her Choo (sorry if I spelled that wrong). Overall I was pleased with this last book. The character-driven plot continued to be exciting and heart-wrenching. Teddy was crushing. He came so far from when he was introduced, and I wanted an HAE for him so badly.

I am giving The Rising 4 Boundless Stars, a good ending to this Epic tale not as spectacular as I had hoped but still good.

❤ LOVED...LOVED...LOVED!

This was my time listening from this author and totally enjoyed the series. I thought listening to long audiobooks would have me borded but I became so enamored and drawn into the characters that I wanted to find out the end and it didn't disappoint.

A fabulor job, with a fabulous cast of narrators who did an excellent job. My favs were all of the H/.hs in the story. The added cast of characters made the story as well. Although I am not a fan of M/M, I overlooked and enjoyed the other parts of the story.

Again, a very well done job with this story and the entire series.

The rising

It was very good and kept my interest until the last part when I felt it was pretty predictable. Some of the accents and affectations were a bit too much and wearisome by the end. I was intrigued by the fact that the author spent a lot of time thoroughly describing the male on male sex scenes but left the male/female sex less developed. Not that I wanted more details of either, just curious as to why.

The Best Series Ever!!

I absolutely loved each and every book! each character, their story lines, the narrator's, and most importantly the final volume of the series did Justice to the build-up to the nemesis. but I truly truly enjoyed the fact that the story lines were either closed, let you know those who made it how their lives continued on, endor let you know there may be future adventures for a few of the characters. This is a series I'm sure in a year so I'll pull out and listen to again.! excellent excellent job Kristen Ashley!!

Kristen Ashley broke my heart!

I was sitting at my desk working with tears rolling down my cheeks because KA killed off the character I most wanted a happy ending for. GAH! My emotions!

Histrionics aside, a talented cast brought to life an epic fantasy that I'm sure I will revisit periodically.
