Publisher's summary

The number one international best-selling author of Pretty Little Wife returns with another thrilling domestic suspense novel that asks, how many wives and girlfriends need to disappear before your family notices?

Elisa Wright is a mom and wife, living a nice, quiet life in a nice, quiet town. She’s also convinced her brother-in-law is a murderer. Josh has one dead wife and one missing fiancée, and though he grieved for them he starts dating someone new. Elisa fears for that woman’s safety, and she desperately wants to know what happened to her friend, Josh’s missing fiancée.

Searching for clues means investigating her own family. And she doesn’t like what she finds. A laptop filled with incriminating information. Other women.

But when Elisa becomes friends with Josh’s new girlfriend and starts to question things she thinks are true, Elisa wonders if the memories of a horrible incident a year ago have finally pushed her over the edge and Josh is really innocent. With so much at stake, Elisa fights off panic attacks and a strange illness. Is it a breakdown or something more? The race is on to get to the truth before another disappearance because there’s a killer in the family…or is there?

nice

Very interesting, fast paced, nice little who done it. Narration was great. Maybe not so believable but neither are lifetime movies!

this had potential

I think the overall idea had so much potential, poor execution of character development and story line development. Huge gaping holes in the plot and lacked a finish that was well put together. It went on and some of the details were actually useless to the story line.

Lifetime movie of a book

If you’re into lifetime type of drama, you’ll enjoy this book. A lot of fluffy words. Predictable for the most part. I said, “ Girl, come ooon!!?”, quite a few times as a result of my frustration of the main character at times. However, I did enjoy it enough to finish.

It was okay

This was super predictable and could have been a 3 hour story instead of the length that it was. It sounded like a bunch of privileged people who didn’t really have to work much and could sit around and plot and scheme and perseverate over a man with secrets. Listen if it’s free and you have a long road trip.

Kind of annoying

I listened to the whole thing to find out what happened, but the whole time I found myself annoyed by the whiny melodramatic tone of both the story and the performance.

It was decent

The performance was impeccable. But the confusion of the wife was so irritating. But overall, I enjoyed this one.

Could have been a little shorter…

I don’t usually deep dive the characters too much (they’re fictional characters) but the main character’s naïveté made it kind of annoying. She was both on point and so oblivious, I found myself shouting at the phone a few times. Could have been a couple of hours shorter, lots of repetitive plots. But overall, good.
