Critic reviews

"I have known Walter for over 30 years, and there are not many other people around with his vast knowledge of baseball. He has played professionally, he has coached collegiately, and he has had two sons who have taken different, yet both successful paths in the game of baseball—these experiences make him uniquely qualified to share his knowledge and opinions. I am most excited that Walter has put together his thoughts to pen and paper. He is a very talented father, baseball coach, and teacher who has contributed to our baseball community through a very thorough and concise piece of work. Thank you, Walter, for bettering the game and helping families through your passion for this great game." (Tim Corbin, head baseball coach, Vanderbilt University)

Very Inspiring Story

I don't have kids in sports but I know many parents put their kids into sports when they are young, and I heard they might get scholarships. But I don't know how it works or really the process. I have been thinking about it whether I should put them in sports or not. I know besides they have to love to play it and it takes a lot of discipline, determination, and commitment. This book helps me understand better about playing sport. It is not easy and there is a process for it. There's a lot involved and tips . If anyone who is new like me and thinking if you should let your kids practice or not or want to make a commitment. Then you should listen to this book.

The Blueprint to Successful Coaching

A step-by-step guide to everything you need to know to prepare your kids and give them the best chance to excel in baseball. The author has used his own many years of parent coaching experience and the book is packed with information which goes down to granular level, looking at specific techniques on the field to external factors which may impact progress. The discipline and dedication taught can be applied to many other sports and factors of life which makes this a great overall read. Great narration and flow make this a joy to listen to.

Wise words

Any parent who recognizes their child's baseball talents early on should definitely consider grabbing a copy of this audio book. Take it from the author who has been through the entire process as a student athlete, MLB player, coach, and baseball parent. He has been in your shoes wherever you are in your young child's baseball career. Beede drops nuggets of wisdom in varying aspects of how we can best support our kids (in areas I hadn't considered before). Great listen!

Incredible

I sent my brother this audiobook to help him with his son, and it has been a huge help in teaching him at least the basics of the game. Any parent who is serious about their child's baseball might profit from this excellent book.

A Must-Read

As an elementary teacher, I encounter hundreds of boys each year who have dreams and aspirations of becoming a professional baseball player. They don't think about the steps in between to get there. They just see the end result. Parents tend to think that it will happen on its own so long as the child's skill level continues to grow. This book, however, walks you through the steps that need to be taken in the process to becoming a college baseball player. For anyone, young or old, looking to understand how to take that young prospect from little league to major leagues, this book is a must-read.
