Linda Castillo

I am a BIG fan of Linda Castillo Amish mysteries. I was not sure if I would like this as it was different. I have to say she did not disappoint! It was as exciting to hear as her other books. I could not stop listening. It was great. Bravo!!!!! Two thumbs up! Highly recommend!

couldn't wait for it to end

reader was so "breathy" it was painful to listen to. I enjoy Linda Castillo's Kate Burkholder stories but I really did not enjoy this story

Reader

Reader was a little too dramatic much of the time. I only kept listening because the story was well written

Some narrators are exceptional and some are painful.

The Perfect Victim was as frustrating to hear as I have ever experienced. Castillo is a favorite author, so much so that I suffered through this annoying narration despite wanting to scream and tear my hair out! The character of Addison was vilified by Lee with voice inflection so that she came across as a whiney, spoiled, selfish brat. But probably the most annoying was Lee’s inflection messed up the listening volume. I listen before going to sleep and it was impossible to adjust the volume when Lee went from whispering to screaming in a single paragraph. I liken this narration to overacting. Castillo, as usual, does not disappoint.

Murder Story or Romance Novel?

I think this book could have been much better if they left out all of the romance novel type scenes. Focus on the story, not sex!

Intriguing book— however

Book ok, however I found the “female “ histrionics and stubborn obtuseness a bit tiring.. and the narrator’s rendition exacerbated this. Puh—- lease !!! 🤣Storyline ok but just could have done without the silliness of the suffering neurotic but “dig in her heels” w someone trying to protect her ..

Narrated too dramatically

But a big fan of Linda Castillo. Story did not disappoint. The narration was just too dramatic even when tone could have been solemn.

I love Linda Castillo, but I can’t get through the books with this reader. Too dramatic.
