Publisher's summary

Sir Isaac Newton is one of history's most renowned scientists. He independently developed the mathematical technique known as Calculus, wrote a treatise on the properties of light and color that is still consulted by scientists, and worked out the mathematical details of the law of gravity.

What is less well-known is the depth of his Christian faith, and the amount of writing, speaking, and research he devoted to defenses of the tenets of Biblical belief. This book makes Newton come alive for listeners. From the detailed account of the events that led to his conversion, his Christian faith plays a central role in this biography, as it did in his life.

Thorough and Captivating look at Newton

This was a Thorough, captivating, joy filled look at the life of Isaac Newton. We were engaged from the beginning and appreciated the break down of his ideas and the authors ability to show how these ideas are still profoundly relevant for us today. The information was told in such a way that it captivated the whole family from adults to our six year old. We definitely plan to read more of MacPherson’s biographies and are thankful for the option to listen via audible.

Excellent recording of excellent book

After several years of reading this book aloud because it is really a great way to understand how enjoyable science and discovery can be, I was not looking forward to reading it aloud again when I have so many other books on my plate. I was not, however, willing to skip it. Lo and behold, an audio version came out! I immediately snatched it up. It’s been a boon and two of my kids listened even though it was a repeat for one because the reader did such a great job and he just found it enjoyable. Highly recommend this book in every way.

Engaging for my 12 year old son!

I struggle to find enough great books to engage my son. This audiobook has been wonderful to listen to as we drive to and from our activities. He’s even listened ahead because he didn’t want to stop. Joyce McPherson has written a book that beautifully opens up the life of Isaac Newton. Any kid who is curious about how the world works will love listening to the story of a young man who discovered a lot of the answers. A fascinating listen!
