Publisher's summary

The best-selling epic fantasy series from Germany, which began with Ahren, continues.

Two Einhans have been found but the third is still at large. Ahren and his companions have to traverse a kingdom plagued by unrest, sail along the treacherous east coast of Jorath and reach the dwarf enclave of Silver Cliff. Falk, Ahren's master hopes to find in its depths the third Einhan, a dwarf friend from his mercenary days, and to win him over for the Ritual of Naming that awaits his apprentice. To gain the dwarf's assistance, they must help him in his solitary watch, that tradition of the little people which allows a dwarf to attain his own individual name.

But time is of the essence. Ahren's Appointment as the 13th Paladin - assisted by the three Einhans - must occur by the winter solstice. If not, He, Who Forces will awaken before his time and plunge the unprepared peoples of Jorath into the depths of darkness.

Wow, the adventure continues

This being the second installment in the series certainly did NOT fail in delivering a great read. I was amazed at how well the story is put together, how you feel like you have been uprooted and placed there in the story to see it happen. I was expecting great things for book 2 and it was delivered with a knock out punch. I cant wait to see how the 3rd installment turns out and wait with breathless anticipation. If it's anything like this one, then it is sure to be a winner as well. Don't pass this one by.

Absolutely a good read

The author is very thorough about how his main character is growing slowly and confidently. Changes are slight but provides a more realistic expectation of a 16 year old boy who is having to grow up fast. Kudos to the author for providing a romantic interest that has more jaded view to the world then the MC. I know that some readers may be thrown off by the ungratefulness, but it’s to be expected with the character. If you don’t like her, write your own stupid love sopping book.

a good next book.

this was a good next book. the series so far is doing a wonderful version of the archetypal hero's journey. unlike so many authors this one does a great job pacing the story our and it never feelsrushed or dragging.

a very solid effort.

The brilliance of the story is continued in this book . Our author weaves his characters through out and shows the love his hero has for people. He offers up his life more than once to prove it. While reading g you will see how magic is brought out of everyone to acive life for the world.

A wonderful fantasy riveting with tremendous navigation

The story is impossible to put down. Could not stop listening. The descriptions are so well written that it feels like I’m right there witnessing the surroundings and knowing the characters. The narrator is priceless! On to the next book with eagerness tonight. Thank you Torsten Weitze and Gildart Jackson!

bad form

you almost lost my interest completely after spending almost an entire chapter with a character acting like complete trash to the person who saved her life and was the only reason she was healed.
