Upstate New York, 1982. Viv Delaney wants to move to New York City, and to help pay for it she takes a job as the night clerk at the Sun Down Motel in Fell, New York. But something isnʼt right at the motel, something haunting and scary. Upstate New York, 2017. Carly Kirk has never been able to let go of the story of her aunt Viv, who mysteriously disappeared from the Sun Down before she was born. She decides to move to Fell and visit the motel, where she quickly learns that nothing has changed since 1982.

Outstanding!
In my opinion, Caroline Mitchell has written her best book ever. It kept me guessing and had elements of horror and crime story which are two of my favorite genres. With it's many twists and turns, it took me by surprise at the end. I loved it and would give it ten stars if I could.

Perfectly spooky
Loved this book! Lots of character development which made you connect with the story. Surprising twists that were believable. Great narration for each character. Perfect for Halloween but great anytime of the year! 100% recommended!

Great story!
This was such a great story! I normally listen an hour or so a week while driving or cooking but this one was riveting! I literally stayed up for hours just to finish it. Performance was so good that you are completely immersed. Highly, highly, HIGHLY recommend!

Great narrator, disappointing story.
I didn't find this story as scary as I had hoped. Dual timelines don't usually confuse me, but this story had so many characters and storylines within the two timelines, that I felt lost for the first third of the book. That took away a lot of the suspense for me which was very disappointing.
The narrator was fantastic.

Well done, hard to put down
A supernatural mystery, cat and mouse type game. Dual narration - the male narrator is the killer and he does a great job of giving the listener the chills when he comes on.
If I didn't have to work, I would have listened to this all in one sitting, it was really well done.
The story isn't predictable and the characters are all believable as real people.
I recommend to anyone who enjoys spooky mysteries.
