Publisher's summary

My husband has been keeping secrets for a long time. He thinks I don’t know what he does outside of this house. But I know everything....

Karla watches silently as Jason hurriedly packs his belongings into a suitcase. She knows that her stillness is unnerving him as she watches his every move from the doorway of their bedroom.

Clothes are screwed up and packed into the case, along with a watch she bought him for his last birthday and his precious laptop. He takes everything from his bedside table. Everything except the framed wedding photo, which now stands alone. Karla strains to see the smiling faces in the photo. If only she knew then what she knows now.

"I’ve fallen in love with someone else", he’d said to her, just moments earlier. The brutality of those words hit Karla hard and she struggled to breathe as she took in each word in turn.

You may think you know what Karla will do next. But you’ll be wrong. Because Karla isn't who you think she is. Only she knows what's about to happen. And you will never see it coming.

An absolutely gripping psychological thriller for listeners who loved The Girl on the Train, Gone Girl, and The Other Woman.

The Marriage Trap

A tale of lies, deceit, and a adulterer destroying everything he touches. A suprising ending

Well preformed, I would recommend this book.

I was correct in my assumptions but was on the edge through out the book.

Shocking ending

This book had a shocking ending I didn't see coming. It's a definite page Turner and I highly recommend it. The narrator was fabulous, too.

Excellent

Excellent story. Lots of twist and turns. I’m sorry it had to end. Great story.

A talented narrator elevates a frustrating listen

"The Marriage Trap" by Sheryl Browne, narrated by Tamsin Kennard, is an audiobook that unfortunately fails to fully captivate. While Tamsin Kennard's vocal talents are spot-on, bringing depth and emotion to the characters, the protagonist Karla's incessant whining grows tiresome. The plot unfolds at a sluggish pace, leaving listeners wondering about the mysterious secret for far too long. Despite my admiration for Kennard's narration, I struggled to continue due to Karla's frustrating character traits. I found myself at the intersection of Disappointment and Confusion. All in all, a disappointing listen and an awkward finale, but a testament to Kennard's skill as narrator.

Is it the end yet?

A bit long winded at times. There were several points at which I thought the wrap up of the plot could’ve begun but frustratingly didn’t. With that said I didn’t predict all the twists in the end

Not the best

This book went from good to bad. The downhill spiral was so overwhelming. Not to mention the wife went from sympathetic to completely loathsome in a hurry.

Yawn

I love psychological, suspense books. However, this one lost my interest so many times while listening. I got confused about the back-and-forth storyline and what was happening. I also had no sympathy for the protagonist, I actually very much disliked her. All of that said, I’ve never rated a buck this low, ever! But, had to do a truthful feedback so others may not spend their credit/money on it. So sad.

Horrible ending

Took so long to finish this book because it was so boring. Really nothing to the plot. There’s one major question at the end, but it just ended, leaving you hanging. Definitely won’t be purchasing another book by this author.

This book drags...

I even found myself saying aloud "this is boring." Which made me wonder, why are you trying to see this through? Just get your credit back.
