Publisher's summary

In this vivid account, Kryiacos C Markides introduces to us the rich and intricate world of Daskalso, The Magus of Strovolos. In what appears at first to be an exercise in fantasy, we see Daskalos draw on seemingly unlimited mixture of esoteric teachings, psychology, reincarnation, demonology, cosmology, and mysticism, from both eastern and western traditions.

But Daskalos is first and foremost a healer, whose work is firmly rooted in a belied in "Holyspirit" or absolute love, and whose aim is the expansion of reason and spiritual evolution.

The orthodox mysteries

I enjoyed it. I even enjoyed the narrator! Some did not as I have noticed. The context will likely turn away fundamental orthodox and protestant christians

I e waited for years for this!

Could barely hear it. One of my favorite books. Soooo disappointed. Re-record with a better narrator at a normal volume.

A long awaited audiobook of a must-read book

Everything about this book is extraordinary, from the skeptical positivist objectivist POV of the author, to Daskalos' remarkable tales and more remarkable explanations. This is a classic and must-listen for anyone interested in an introduction to an advanced set of metaphysical and psychological concepts that are connected to perennial philosophy and in fact add a great deal to it. Other works by the same author fill in even more details, and I am looking forward to them becoming audiobooks too. So yes, I am a fan.

As for the recording quality and reading, it is fine. The reader has a nice resonant voice and a pleasant engagement with the material. I noticed that when streaming the book, the volume was a little low, and the quality was not quite as good as when the book is downloaded at a high quality setting and played with Books on my iPhone. So I recommend downloading the book to your device of choice and enjoying it that way. Also, I have noticed with other Audible titles (but not this one), that at times the mp3 can become garbled (until the app is closed and restarted). It is quite possible that this is what happened to the one star reviewer here.

Sound was soft, otherwise love

I had the sound up high but had trouble hearing the recording. Love the book and the reading was great.
