Definitely not a strong woman story

Main character is whiney, lazy with a mean sense of humor. I made it through all 3 stories hoping she would mature and grow with her job, she doesn't.

Entertaining stories and narration

I really love Kate Gazarra. These stories are very entertaining police procedural stories but a bit gory in parts for me. The narration is very good.

Very Good

Already listened to 20 Harry Starke novels and thoroughly enjoyed these.

Narrator quite clear and competent..

If only this strong woman stayed that way

Loved the first book but into the second book it appeared she suddenly became a pushover that allowed blatant sexual harassment and discrimination. Sickening. Redeems herself but wasn’t in the original ball busting character to allow it to go on for so long. Wanted to give 4.5 but didn’t allow. Still a good read but dang why write her as a pushover after establishing her as a strong capable female. I do suggest this series still hoping she remains strong in next 3. Great performance by narrator.

I liked these books

The stories were all very well thought out a nd put together. The people all seemed real and so.e were too real! I really disliked the Assistant Chief of police.
If you get a chance to read any of Blair Howard's books do so ...You won't be sorry.

Too much whining

Too much focus on complaining about coworkers. Needed more focus on the mystery of the case. Won't buy another.

worst narrator ever!!

It is very rare that I shelve a book before I finish it, but the monotone voice is killing me! I like the author and the storylines, but I can't listen anymore! What a shame to ruin a good audio book like this.

Story interesting but the rest no

Did not care for the narrator. While the story was good too much whining just too much of everything else. I wanted to know the end, skipped Book 2 a quarter of the way through was just not good. Won’t read any more of these.

Nice Try but NO Character here

Kate is a spin off from Harry Starke novels.

The character tries to act like a man by using profanity and acting tough but it comes across as bad writing and an unlikable character.

She acts tough but is not and tries to become cerebral but is not.

Nice trie but no cigars he. Bring on more Harry Starke and forget this franchise.
