Publisher's summary

Nestor and Nathan Kiklu are the twin sons of Harry Keogh, the Necroscope. United by blood, they also share some of their father's awesome powers - but what they do with those gifts cannot be more different!

Nathan takes up the struggle against the metamorphic vampires, while Nestor, fascinated by the vampires' eerie evil, has become his twin's worst nightmare: A Wamphyri Lord!

Harry Keogh's sons have become the bitterest of enemies, each determined to destroy the other. When next they meet, one will surely die!

Truly one of the best by far!

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
While it is not necessary to have read the previous books to follow the storyline, it was an exciting addition. Mr. Lumley has written a very well developed story with horror, sci-fi, adventure, and even some romance. The story follows after the previous book ending and provides more details on characters and their development.
Mr. Saxon has done a superb job at reading the series, and it is a pleasure to have a single reader for the books. The recording is of high quality, and it difficult to find any errors, hissing, or pops in the audiobook.
I would recommend this book to all who enjoy stories about dead people, vampires, and the supernatural.

Classic Lumley storytelling

Excellent narration, decent pacing, less focus on minute details and a wider scope of the worlds the story takes place within. Absolute joy to listen to.
So many payoffs from previous entries in the series that while it is a far departure from the first few Necroscope books, it's still in the running for best written entry

Saxon is amazing with Lumley's amazing work!

Out of the the first 5 books and the 3 vampire world books, Last Aerie is definitely top on that list for me! It is very hard to put these in order, but if I had to The Last Aerie would be #1! And Joshua Saxon knocks it out of the park with his narration! Can't wait for Blood Wars!

The Suns of Harry

Again, Joshua Saxon delivers unto us mere mortals the worlds and words of the Master Lumley! This is a MONSTER of a book in so many ways! Complex tales of the sons of Harry, both in this realm and the realm of The Last Aerie. The journey of the almost 24 hour long reading is worth every breath and nuance of Joshua's vocal performances here. His rich tones and various accents will have you enthralled into the words of Master Lumley and the time will pass wit a quickness. There can be no spoilers here, just kick back, put on your headphones and again, listen to the voice of the Master's words given life (and death) through the masterful rendition served here to us mere mortals via the soothing and sometimes eerie tones of Joshua! To Brian and Silky....yes....Joshua is the ONLY one that should be reading Brian's works from now on...he has become a master of the complexities that make these books a joy to have read and now to hear in all their glorious nightmarish tones!
