Publisher's summary

The Honourable Phryne Fisher - she of the Lulu bob, Cupid's bow lips, diamante garters and pearl-handled pistol - is the 1920s' most elegant and irrepressible sleuth.

Miss Phryne Fisher is up to her stunning green eyes in intriguing crime in each of these entertaining, fun and compulsively listenable stories. With the ever-loyal Dot, the ingenious Mr Butler and all of Phryne's friends and household, the action is as fast as Phryne's wit and logic.

Excellent Read

Enjoyable, entertaining, and fun. I highly recommend this book. Great listening while you work, cross stitch, paint, knit, or travel. Would be perfect for travel by plane, bus, or long distance road trip.

some familiar, some new

I very much enjoyed this collection and the narration. Even with the retreads, well worth the time and cost.

Phryne's short adventures

I enjoyed this collection of short stories and the introduction by Kerry Greenwood in which she talks about the development of the series and mentions the soon to be published 21st Phryne Fisher novel, and also the relationship between the TV Phryne Fisher world and the book world. Those of you who already own A Question of Death, the previous short story collection will be disappointed, as this collection contains the stories from that one plus 4 new stories and the introduction mentioned above. I am fortunate, I was considering buying A Question of Death since I was unable to find a Kindle edition, when I found out about this one, so I was able to get the longer collection without conflict.

I do wonder why neither of these is available for Kindle, at least in the US? I had read A Question of Death in paper copy from the library some years ago.

Collection of Phryne Fisher Stories

I must say I was surprised when I started listening to a collection of short stories. Usually I don’t read short stories but I started to listen to these. They hung together well and they were up to the quality of the novels. So I listened to the whole book.

I recommend this to anyone who likes mysteries. They are great stories. If haven’t read any Phryne Fisher novels, this is a good way to get to know her and her crew.

Love this series!

Loved this series of short stories. I would like hopefully soon to read a full novel ND not just short stories of this beloved character!

fun additions to already fun story lines

These additional stories add wonderfully to the existing books. if you're an avid Phrynne fan, you know which books these stories fit in. Wendy did a great job as Phrynne and the characters as well. I'm just waiting for the last 2 books to be on Audible. once they are, I will have listened to.the entire series. Here's hoping there are more mysteries to come!

A reprint plus a few new stories.

Disappointing actually. The new reader is mostly ok but her pronunciation of foreign languages is a mess, which is painful when reading an author as widely read and unpretentiously erudite as Kerry Greenwood. The new stories aren’t really mysteries but light fluff. And why is Ember suddenly female? For Phryne addicts who want every word. Otherwise I’d recommend sticking with the original collection and Stephanie Daniel.

Very good book, but narrator isn’t Stephanie Daniel.

This is an excellent book, and I like it very much! My only complaint is that the previous narrator of this serious, Stephanie Daniel “the voice of Phryne” as described by Karry Greenwood. did an amazing job of conveying through her performances the sublime self-confidence, and complete assurance of Phryne that she is in the rite, and everything will be alright. Wendy Bos, although providing a creditable performance, allows a note of uncertainty to enter Phryne’s voice which in my opinion simply does not belong there, and changes the feeling of the character in a way that I do not like. (This Phryne is still excellent, but not as excellent)
