Publisher's summary

American communication satellites are vital to the survival of the nation. When satellites are destroyed in orbit the shrapnel spreads and endangers other satellites. Destroy enough satellites and the Kessler Syndrome goes into effect. All satellites are destroyed in a never ending chain reaction rendering that position in orbit useless forever. Tax accountant Raymond Phillips is unaware he is a dead ringer for a spy who has been selling Defense Satellite secrets to an enemy. When the spy goes missing and has a target put on his back by his own handlers, Phillips winds up in their cross hairs. Phillips’ likeness to the aerospace engineer isn’t lost by the CIA who has been tracking the spy ring. In a desperate attempt to bring it down, they launch a daring plan to lure the ring into a trap with Phillips as the bait. Laura Gains is assigned to recruit Phillips and act as his handler. She soon finds the reluctant recruit is a handful to manage The stakes are raised when, trapped aboard a private jet on their way to China, the plot is discovered. As captives on their way to the enemies’ lair, Gains and Phillips must find a way to prevent the enemy from obtaining information that will bring the Western World to its knees.
