Publisher's summary

Greta Russakoff loves her tight-knit family and tiny Maine hometown, but they can't seem to understand what it's like to be a lesbian living in such a small world. When an act of familial meddling goes way too far, she realizes just how desperately she needs space to figure out who she is.

Truman Belvedere's heart is crushed when he learns that his boyfriend has a secret life, including a husband and daughter. Reeling, all he wants is a place to lick his wounds far far away from Louisiana.

Enter a mutual friend with a life-altering idea: swap homes for the holidays. For one perfect month, Greta and Truman will have a chance to experience a whole new world...and maybe fall in love with the partner of their dreams. But all holidays must come to an end, and eventually these two transplants will have to decide whether the love (and found family) they each discovered so far from home is worth fighting for.

A holiday delight

This was fun to listen to as I was making all my holiday preparations. Entertaining and heartwarming.

Not bad but not my favorite

The performance was good by all narrators. The story was okay but not one of my favorites. It felt slow at times and I don’t feel like I ever fully got the chance to get to know Greta or Truman. The writing style was cute with witty dialogue, though the descriptions were a bit too long for my taste overall. Not a bad story just wish I had connected more with the characters. The ending was satisfying as far as the main relationships in the book, but I felt the subplots were rushed to unsatisfying endings.

Amusing lite read

This was mostly cute. I got tired of the whining of the main female protagonist. She is supposed to be getting mature and drawing boundaries but she does it in a really immature dramatic fashion. I guess that's how people are in their early 20s. The storyline with the dudes was more enjoyable. They both had some amusing moments, especially in the beginning. The friend Ramona is annoying after a while with her "wisdom". I want to send her to therapy first. I want to send all of them to therapy. The main message to me here was thank god I'm not in my 20s. Narrators were good, the dudes narrator was great.

Rad Swap

The flow of this story is so much fun. I listened to the audio version and the switching of the narrators really helped you to stay in the moment of the characters. I love how both main characters find both their person and their best life. It also reflects on how the way you see life can effect your interaction with others but also highlight that if your thinking isn't really working for you a new way of thinking is possible. I also love how Greta heading back to Maine help Truman get Truman's new life forward as well. Won't tell what it is but the kick-a** moment on the way to the airport was so perfect.

This was a great first for me

I usually listen to only WLW audiobooks, this one has a MLM as well, I didn’t think I will be happy about it, but it was a good book and I am glad I listened to it.
It is a great holiday book, yes I know the holidays ar3e far away yet, but who cares, I love reading about the holidays.

Great story

I was a bit hesitant to get this audio book but I’m so glad I did! Loved the parallel stories and the great lessons in them. The narrators were great and this will definitely go into my re-listen category.

Such a great story!

I loved it from word one. A very well-written story with characters you can’t help but love. I was sad when it ended!

So sweet and fun!

It’s not so much a holiday book as it is a perfect romance between 2 different couples & learning to love who they are. I truly enjoyed this book and am so glad I read it!

Had potential

Loved the plot of swapping homes to potentially find the peace or true belonging. However, this book dragged on FOREVER with way too many subplots. I did like the character Truman, he felt endearing and Karris because she was smart, strong, and comfortable in herself. Overall, this was a waste of time and credit for me.
