Publisher's summary

Get the Hallowed War bundle, featuring all three books in the pulse-pounding military sci-fi series set in a post-apocalyptic world from T.E. Bakutis. It's perfect for fans of Nicholas Sansbury Smith, T.W. Piperbrook, and Bobby Adair.

A century after the Break destroyed much of the world, the wealthy island nation of Dios stands alone as a paradise for those who remain...so long as they aren’t poor and homeless.

For street orphan Grant Riven, life is a series of kicks to the face. Until exposure to a powerful mutating agent gives him super strength, passive-regeneration, and the ability to use powerful weapons.

The downside? Lots of other people have mutated as well, except they’re insane and want to eat everyone.

After he’s recruited by Cloud Nine Engineering, the most powerful corporation in Dios, Grant is labeled “Hallowed”–the fancy name for his new mutation–and drafted into a war against the Mutes, the cannibalistic mutants overrunning Dios.

The deal is simple. In exchange for risking his life to fight monsters, Cloud Nine will provide him with the cure that keeps him from becoming a monster himself.

Buy this special-edition omnibus to experience this complete military science-fiction series from T.E. Bakutis.

Very Cool rollercoaster ride.

I was greatly entertained by this series. I loved it. I was a little hesitant at first as it isn't my normal style. However, that being said, it didn't take long at all to catch my attention and keep it bound. From start to finish I found this a very enjoyable read. I was able to relate to the characters. There were some sterio types, but it all works. I did get thrown a little at the begining of each book change. The first book wasn't too bad as I had no idea what to expect when I started. Then when the second book began, it hit me as, "Wait a minute. What happened? What did I miss?" Then I remembered, oh yeah, the author teases you at first by relating something further in the timeline, then jumping back. It was a little disturbing at first, but then it all worked out, and I was again thoroughly hooked in the storyline. I definitely recomend these books. In fact I have already recomended them to my son-in-law.

Great

Very creative. Each book felt self contained but each also revealed more about the world.

Could have been a 4 plus

But there is too much repetition and too many inconsistencies plus too much reliance on blood and guts fighting instead of insight on why’s. It comes across like a 1955 shoot’em up Western in outer space with the good guys winning only because they are the good guys.
