Publisher's summary

Ray Bradbury is a modern cultural treasure. His disarming simplicity of style underlies a towering body of work unmatched in metaphorical power by any other American storyteller. And here, presented in a new trade edition, are 32 of his most famous tales - prime examples of the poignant and mysterious poetry which Bradbury uniquely uncovers in the depths of the human soul, the otherwordly portraits of outre fascination which spring from the canvas of one of the century's great men of imagination.

From a lonely coastal lighthouse to a 60-million-year-old safari, from the pouring rain of Venus to the ominous silence of a murder scene, Ray Bradbury is our sure-handed guide not only to surprising and outrageous manifestations of the future, but also to the wonders of the present that we could never have imagined on our own.

One of the great storytellers of all time.

Amazing stories, and excellent narration. I have so many favorite authors and I was a little bit late to the party as far as reading anything from Ray Bradberry. I eventually found out that my favorite shows such as “twilight zone“ many Stephen King novels, and many science, fiction, movies, as well as other genres of movies and books were definitely inspired by this guy. These stories are amazing and I would recommend them to anyone.

Great short stories.

Some of my personal favorites from this American treasure.
I’ve loved his stories since I was a little kid. Something wicked this way comes.
Haunting. Detailed stories of feelings and walking in the open and life with magical things happening all the time.

Golden delicious

What can I say? Ray is one of my favorite authors. These stories are wild, imaginative, touching, sad, and thought provoking. Again and again I’m amazed at Ray’s imagination and how easily he seems to create whole worlds and civilizations, it’s beautiful. Worth every minute and possibly also worth picking up a hard copy.

Only one Thing Missing

This is actually The Golden Apples of the Sun and R Is For Rocket. As others have said, I only wished that Amazon would have named the chapters rather than just use numbers.

Exceptional

A fantastic collection of short stories performed by an outstanding narrator in MacLeod Andrews. I have enjoyed many of Bradbury’s classic stories but find this book of short stories to be my favorite so far.

Powerful prose, fantastic narration

I am amazed at how Bradbury is able to draw me in so easily to a short story and keep me thinking about them long after I read them. They’re so creative, written with powerful and flowing prose, and they resonate haunting themes. I’m just sad I only get to read them for the first time once. The narrator was fantastic. This was one of the best credits I ever spent. I can’t wait to read more of Bradbury’s short stories. My favorites were The Long Rain, A Sound of Thunder, and Embroidery.

I love Ray Bradbury

I love Ray Bradbury. Why can’t Audible list a table of contents. Ray made many compilations and trying to find a single story among them is impossible With Audible. The tech of Audible should not be inferior to the public library. It would be nice if when I hit the chapters tab it actually listed the titles and not just chapter numbers. The book is great. The voice talent is superb. The value is fine. The app is frustrating. Had to do a google search and take a screenshot to find a list of stories.

You Never Step into the Same River Twice

I read stories long ago from grade school to college…and they all stuck with-genius does that but now after Zen in Writing and this compilation I know more about him, myself, writing in general, humanity, the twentieth century…I am not exactly the same man i was only a week or two ago- that’s Bradbury.
