Best motivational book I've ever listened to

One of the best books I've listened to in 2019 - I love this book!

This is not a self-help book, this is a self-actualization book. In it, Ruby Allure talks about understanding what it means to be a woman, and why it is important for women to have self-worth, confidence, and understand the vital part that we play in humanity. This is not anti-men in any sense, as Allure states that both men and women are vital, but it IS pro-women. It is a handbook for woman who need encouragement in their personal empowerment that consistently reminds us that we - as women - should be lifting each other up instead of tearing each other down. She reminds up that we are a sisterhood.

The Female Rising is one of those books that you will read/listen to multiple times because it also includes affirmations and study-guide like chapters. I listened to it while I was working, and I kept thinking how I needed a notebook handy to write down sections I wanted to go back to and repeat. There are repeat-after-me aspects as well. In all actuality, I will probably at some point go and buy the print version of this book to have for sit-down reference or as a companion while I listen again.

There hasn't been a book impact me more in the last few years than this one - with exception to "Decluttering at the Speed of Life" which I feel was written specifically for me by someone who has secret cameras in my house...but that's another story (literally & figuratively) all together. The Female Rising is a book that only half way through, I recommended to my best friend and my mother. I recommend it to all women. While I don't know how seriously I would have taken this book when I was a teenage (I'm 40 now), I could have definitely used this positive message even then.

The narration is fantastic and I think it might even be better because of how much motivational her reading presents. I will be listening to the rest of the series for sure.

I was given a copy of this book by the author, narrator, or publisher in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.
