Learn & Understand How US Government Works

The book does a great job of giving you a tremendous amount of content in a way that is easy to follow. It also gives little bits of history to help make the content easier to comprehend and understand.

Now that most schools longer require Civics classes, every parent should make this required reading (listening) for their kids.

Great Book

I like how the book made learning about American government easy to understand. It was very detailed and went to the lowest levels government.

Great Book

This book kept my interest. If it had been paper I would say that I could not put it down. In fact I started and finished the book in one day that is how interesting it is.

Great review of our governmental structure

Insightful and well narrated. I liked the author’s historical account of how our government came to be structured in the way it currently is. Understanding the evolution of our government as it adapted to social changes and maturation of our population’s beliefs — along with technological capacities that made possible new opportunities — is helpful as we consider new adaptations. Highly recommended for all American citizens — and others who want to speak knowledgeably on the subject.

Content.

Very succinctly the book covers concepts sufficiently to follow up with further research if necessary. An eye opener for
many subjects.

A solid understanding of local, state and national political structure...

A very good primer for those who either never took the study of civics seriously in school or had long forgotten what they had learned.

Overall good, but some data incorrect

Really liked the book. But Colin Powell was not a 5 star general. I wonder what other details were inaccurate that I’m not smart enough on to catch.

Amazing book

I loved this book; it went into so much more than I thought it would and I took a National government course in college and this book taught me more than the course I took. Would highly recommend to everyone especially if you want to be a politician.

Detailed but dated

The release date of this audiobook states 2019, so I assumed the book's content is also contemporary. This was an invalid assumption. While the book contains valuable insights about the interworking of U.S. government, the anecdotes / examples used to highlight key points are from 2002 or earlier. Therefore, I feel a bit betrayed by Audible. I find, however, that many aspects of the text, such as how bills are passed, are still relevant to politics today.

Review of a book

So much of what goes on in the media and our government is explained in simple terms. The book does NOT. Take sides ,but explains the different parts of our government. I think people will enjoy this
