Publisher's summary

At age 13, Major Wiley Gremillion sat with Aubrey Tarver under their dragon tree, sure of her future. She'd share her life with Aubrey and continue her family's tradition of military service.

But as a sniper with Special Forces, code name Black Dragon, her enemies cost her a future with Aubrey. Walking away was the only way to keep Aubrey whole. Now retired, Wiley knows she'll be alone, dividing her time between her canvasses and helping others with her unique military skill set.

Time hasn't dulled the pain of losing Wiley for Aubrey, but she has to set that aside when her choices put her life and her family's lives in real danger. The only way out is Wiley, but after so many years, Aubrey's not sure that's an option.

Aubrey's first call sets off a firestorm that will take all Wiley's experience to escape, and along the way they might find what they lost. Together they started their story under a tree, and they'll fight to make sure it doesn't end on the streets of New Orleans.

Darkness old friend

In the act of love whom does The Dragon saves her heart or her sanity. Another great story and narration to deluge in.

Very good book!

Any chance of having a Black Dragon series like the Cain Casey series? This book was equally gripping. Wiley and Aubrey were very compelling characters as was their daughter Tanith who was very sweet. It was interesting to see so many of Casey’s side characters. Hence my request for a new series. Paige was a very good narrator.

The Dragon Tree Legacy

I love this book and the author. The characters were real and very emotional in how they felt for each other. I can read this book many times over.

An amazing ride!!

I have read this book several times and loved it! However, listening to this story had me at the edge of my seat, excited like it was the first time! I say that the world needs more Black Dragon justice and I really hope Ali Vali makes this a series!

As good as any Cain Casey book!

If you like Cain Casey, you’ll like this just as much. I didn’t lose interest at any point. Hoping for a Dragon series!
Paige McKinney wouldn’t be my pick as the narrator, but she’s definitely not bad. She lacks a certain enthusiasm for this style of book in my opinion. Her cadence is a little slow or monotone for my taste.
Love Ali Vali! Thank you!!

NON STOP

This book had no slow part to it, just non stop action. There were more characters than I’m used to in a book so it took a minute to revert back to recall who’s who, but I couldn’t stop listening!!! Great story!

Must read!

I have never had a book to where I had such a profound connection before. The story, the characters, and the writing drew me in. I had a strong emotional experience with this story. Amazing!!!

Narrator not good fit

I usually avoid all audiobooks narrated by Paige McKinney. An odd lilt in her voice drives me up the wall, making me feel like I’m being read a children’s bedtime story. Also, she doesn’t change inflection in the narration to indicate rising tension, etc.
I got lost several times. Too many characters and too drawn out. And don’t get me started on the sex-with-supplier chapter. This didn’t fit with what was happening in the MC’s life at that moment. Too many things jarred me out of my ability to suspend disbelief. Sigh.
I normally love Ali Vali’s books. This one just rubbed my fur the wrong way.
