Publisher's summary

Wyatt Bishop was a bully. Everyone knew the wildly popular guy who ran the school with his iron-fisted friends, but when one of Wyatt’s victims suffers a horrific car accident, time stops. He pulls her from the wreckage, determined to save her life even though all hope seems lost. When she stops breathing in his arms, everything changes.

While Adaline Hayes is in a coma, Wyatt spends months learning who she really is beneath her baggy clothes and shy personality. The apple of her mother’s eye, her father’s cherished daughter, a great singer and dancer, and kind to a fault, Adaline turns out to be something completely different when she’s not at school. She’s kind and forgiving, but can she ever forgive the boy who tormented her day after day with no end in sight?

As Wyatt works to change his brutal ways, the days tick by and Adaline seems farther and farther away. Will she ever wake up? Will he ever get to tell her how sorry he is, or will he carry his guilt forever?

okay

A sweet and heartbreaking, full of angst coming of age story.
I liked the characters' evolution, and the story was interesting.

Wonderful story!

There's no doubt about it - Wyatt Bishop is a bully. He rules the school with insults and "pranks" and his most frequent target is Adaline Hayes. When he stops to think about why he does it, he convinces himself that he wants to be accepted by his friends. He comes from a broken home where his father left them for another woman, his mother is their rock and underneath it all, his anger is pushing him to be more like his father. But why did he choose Adaline as his target? His entire world changes when Adaline is in a horrible car crash. Wyatt sees it happen and tries to pull her to safety, but it's too late, she isn't breathing. As she lies in a coma, Wyatt doesn't leave her side and he begins to see the true Adaline underneath it all. His eyes are opened as he comes to admire her for her sense of compassion, devotion to her parents, love of animals and her passion for music. And as he begins to understand Adaline more each day, he finds that it feels much better to treat his friends in this new manner. When Adaline awakens from her coma, she can't believe her eyes. What is her tormentor doing beside her bed? She's hesitant to trust him, but her friends convince her how much he's changed and it would behoove her to give him a chance. This is a bittersweet, magnificent, coming of age story of this group of friends who have been together for so long. One of the highlights of this series is the crossover of the other books' characters and how they add another layer of richness to each book. This is a wonderful series and I highly recommend it.
The narration was very well done by Ray Shaw. His dynamic voice, the pace at which he reads and the emotions he brings to each character make this book come to life.

Great Continuation

I really liked this series and I love getting the Male POV. This one in particular was a great story of youth and growth and finding yourself and who you are and want to be. the narration is done well with some cameos from our old favorite characters.
