Story
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

In the heart of the South Pacific lies Point Nemo, the most desolate and remote place on Earth. At its core is a dead zone, devoid of life, where government agencies crash their obsolete satellites and space stations, confident they won't harm a soul. When the International Space Station suffers a catastrophic failure and plummets through the atmosphere, it's here that Mission Specialist Julie Rohr, an astrobiologist studying living space dust called xylem, finds herself marooned. Julie's only hope for rescue lies in the hands of her estranged father, Dr. Finn Maddern, a renowned mycologist.

Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

Story
“When there's no more room in hell, the dead shall walk the earth." It started as an isolated outbreak of a mysterious illness in the wake of a minor natural disaster in central New Jersey. The first reports of illness occurred within hours of exposure, the first deaths followed a short time later but it wasn’t until the second day that the first of the dead started to rise. By the end of the weekend the illness had burnt its way across the globe as containment efforts failed. Garrett Newton was just about to start a new chapter in his life after a combat injury ended his military ...

Good book, not so good narration
As the title states, the book was good. I just didn’t enjoy the virtual voice. It doesn’t convey emotion at all.
The issue I had with the book itself was that we didn’t get enough monsters. I was excited to read this based on the fact that there were some evil lurking in the woods. But it was more about the survivors of the aftermath, then the entities themselves. The book touched on these new species and how the town lost power, but it wasn’t enough (in my opinion). I’m moving on to book 2 in hopes of getting answers.

Edge of your seat story
Despite complaints about the AI voice narration, this was a very good story. Every major character had depth, and there was a realism to their human flaws, frailties and virtues. It is a story of good versus evil, and as it developed it kept me on the edge of my seat. Well, written action, sequences; A nice mix of science, fiction, thriller, with a touch of dystopian literature. Though the AI voice lacks emotion, my imagination was able to compensate. And it was worth it. Looking forward to book 2. Strongly recommend

Stop using AI Voice
Please stop using AI voice, it completely detracts from the storyline with nonhuman inflections, nuances and appropriate emotions. I know it probably makes you more profit in the short term, but you will lose profits when listeners refuse to listen to audio books using AI Voice, no matter how good the story. This book would have been a 5 if you chose to hire one of our phenomenal audio book narrators.

The narration was distracting and not very good
The narration was distracting from the story. I don’t think I can listen to the computer narration and enjoy a book.

get rid of the virtual voice
Okay this is the second book that I've listened to with virtual voice.. let's just call it what it is AI and it sucks. I hate when the storyline sounds dead because there is no emotion where there needs to be. Without the emotions there are times where you have to go back and listen to a part because you don't know which character is speaking. They all sound the same flat with no definition. I like it when somebody reads the book and you can tell the difference between the characters and the storyline has more personality with the AI it sounds completely dead.

AI Narration Falls short
I enjoyed the story very much; however the computer generated AI narration was void of emotion and acting out the right tones during dramatic events. I will likely not listen to the other books in the series since I was very annoyed by the computer generated narration in book 1.

Hard to listen to.
The narrator reads very flat and monotone. All the characters sound exactly the same and without inflections.

Very good story. AI voice recording is not good
The story is interesting with well developed characters. I respect and like the main character and find myself wanting his success. The story pulls you in. I continued to listen all the way through even though the AI voice reading is NOT my favorite.
