Publisher's summary

Welcome to the Crescent Motel, a waypoint in a post-apocalyptic no man's land. At the helm are Darrell, the middle-aged mustachioed manager, and his danger-sniffing dog Bruno. When he and the motel's housekeeper, Nance, discover one of the guests dead, they decide to keep the body under wraps until they root out the killer. But before they have a chance, two mysterious men appear, looking for answers. When the first body disappears and is replaced by another, Darrell and Nance realize they're in over their heads.

Macabre, but Funny

The apocalypse was never so humorous. Darrell runs the Motel at the end of the world along with his housekeeper, Nance, and trusty dog, Bruno. When bodies start turning, stabbed in the back, everyone becomes a suspect. Then 2 bruiser types show up and start demanding answers, or else. How will it all sort out? Who stole the coffee? Who killed who? Read/listen and enjoy a happy apocalypse that will make you smile!

Entertaining Post-Apocalyptic who done it tale!

Listening to the audiobook of The Coffee Killer reminded me of watching Douglas Adams’ Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. Darrell really reminded me of Arthur Dent in that they are both unassuming /unsuspecting heroes in a great mystery. While the Coffee Killer isn’t space based, it is the same campy type of storytelling that hooks you right off the bat and keeps you entertained throughout the entire story. I certainly enjoyed this introduction to the Motel at the end of the World series enough to follow up with the second installment of the series.

Another well-written story from a very good author

The Coffee Killer: A Cozy Apocalypse Novel (Motel at the End of the World Book 1), my third read from author A.R. Shaw this month, was a 3-hour 25-minute/152-page read that captured my attention and kept me reading until I finished it in 1 sitting. “I received a free Audible copy of this book & am now voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I look forward to reading more from this author and in particular, Room Service Revenge: A Cozy Apocalypse Novel (Motel at the End of the World Book 2). (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

Light Hearted Who Dunit in an Apocalypse

I have read many of A.R. Shaw's books. This one is cute (it is short), it reminds me of a cozy mystery. There isn't any gore, the characters are done well and the setting of the motel is great. If you are looking for a quick lighthearted, fun and entertaining mystery type book this is fun.

Now if you are looking for all the apocalypse details like in her other works, it is only alluded to here.

This is my first time with this narrator. I really enjoyed him and am now looking for more books he has done.

Over all if you are looking for something cute, fun, lighthearted and not long, or are a fan of A.R.Shaw. You may enjoy this.

What a brilliant story!

I absolutely loved this audiobook. Narration is perfect. And the author writes great stories. Takes you away to their world for a bit. Can’t wait for next book in series.

Great story

I really enjoyed this short-ish story. The story itself was really well written and kept my interest. The narrator was one of the best I've ever heard. Really brought the story to life!
