Publisher's summary

The butterfly effect - one small change, one moment in time that impacts the future.

At 26 years old I never dreamed I’d walk in on my husband in bed with my best friend. At 27 years old I found myself divorced and the mother of a one-year-old son. Never mind I was learning to take the reins of my family’s apple orchard business. There was no way my life could be any more complicated...or so I thought.

Can a woman who’s lost all trust in men help a man who can’t even trust himself?

Aiden O’Hara was my brother’s best friend, and I would be remiss if I said I hadn’t always found him utterly attractive - and the passing of time or circumstances didn’t change that. But when he moves back to Boggy Creek Valley after serving his time as a Navy SEAL, I cannot deny the pull I feel between us.

Aiden is haunted by his own demons - demons that seem bigger than the both of us - and my heart warns me to stay away. I’d been burned already and didn’t need that added complication in my life, or so I thought. But one moment in time changes everything between us, and neither one of us can deny the hidden feelings we share.

Our pasts want to keep us apart...and our future will be up to the wings of fate.

The Butterfly Effect is book one in the Boggy Creek Valley series and is a stand-alone novel.

A Cute Read!

This was my second book by Kelly Elliott and it didn't disappoint. I thought this book was really cute and finally fast and easy to read. I wasn't as enthralled with this book as I was with book two in this series but Willa and Aiden were such a sweet couple. It was very enjoyable and easy to read and touches on many important subjects and does it in a very classy way. I kept bouncing back from a 3 to 4 star rating but ultimately I’m going with 4 because I, overall, enjoyed this book!

The most beautiful story! Elizabeth @ Carolina Chic’s Read

The most beautiful story! Elizabeth @ Carolina Chic’s Read

The Butterfly Effect is the most beautiful story I have ever read. It’s deep, emotional and breaks you down while building you up! The characters are strong and definitely are living the path set for them.

5 BIG STARS! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This story is simply wonderful.

This book captures the complexity of what happens when combat veterans return to their hometowns with scars on the inside as well as the outside.

Willa had a high school crush on her brother’s best friend, Aiden. Aiden leaves their small town behind to join the Navy SEALS. Willa marries someone else, but finds herself divorced with an infant son when she finds her husband has cheated on her.

Willa is running the family orchard as a single mother. Aiden returns to their hometown after a final battle wound forces him from the SEALS. Aiden and Willa love each other, but Aiden struggles with severe PTSD. He thinks he can manage it alone, but he has to learn to put aside the military facade of just gutting it out and learn to lean on others for support.

This second chance romance was delightful and had a ring of truth to it. It finds hope and optimism, even when life can deal you a tough hand. If you know or love someone with PTSD or was a veteran, this book will hit especially close to home. I highly recommend.

Trite, flat and not worth the time

I did not finish this book.

I didn’t have strong expectations but found the character development lacking and flat. Word choice and information sharing was trite. It was as though the author threw in some heavy topical items to make it more robust but it was wasted as it was handled poorly.

I wanted to like it. I started reading and could bot continue so hoped narration could help me along. I think the narrators were solid the story and writing were the problem.

I selected this as an option since it was part of a series. I read the other reviews and I do not understand the positivity. I do hope the later books in the series are better but I don’t think I can continue.
