Publisher's summary

The Bucknoll Cottage Chronicles takes you on a wild ride following Mary Lowengard's journey that begins with her impulse purchase of a little more of a country house (a.k.a. cottage) than she really needed. In for the penny, in for the pound, she relays her tales of fixing it up and entertaining houseguests, in addition to battling bugs, supporting the local economy (rodeo, anyone?), and dealing with the vicissitudes of weather, storage, gardening, yoga, installing an illegal clothesline, and more. The Bucknoll Cottage Chronicles will give you a greater appreciation for the joys and challenges of country living. What’s in it for you? A cautionary tale, a good story, and a hearty laugh.

Bucknoll Cottage: An Engaging Read

This book takes the reader on a pleasantly rolling amble through the pleasures and vicissitudes of owning a second home in the “country”. It was a pleasure to read. I’ll bet many Boomers have had similar experiences, and reading about the author’s fully engaged me as it brought back so many memories of times gone by and the myriad happy surprises and “oh no” moments. To boot, the author’s wry sense of humor had me chuckling throughout.
