Potter and Scott!

The tales we loved as children perfectly narrated. My kiddos love to listen to this at bedtime. (We skip Jemima Puddleduck and one other because they find them disturbing.) But otherwise delightful tales expertly interpreted. We especially love the way he whispers “the end” after each one- somehow makes it all feel more magical.

I listen to be lulled to sleep

Andrew Scott's acting skills come through with a great narration of classics I used to read to my kids. Now someone else reads to me:)

Almost Perfect

I got this even though I have another Beatrix Potter from Audible, which is also good, because it was Andrew Scott narrating. It does not disappoint. I will confess, firstly, that we have not yet listened to all the stories, but most of them. The Beatrix Potter stories themselves, of course, are lovely. If you're unfamiliar, they're enchanting, wholesome, sometimes silly stories about the British countryside and the animals (and occasionally people) who live there. Andrew Scott's narration is fabulous. He gives it a signature, almost creepy but not, whispery, delicate reading. His reading of Squirrel Nutkin is particularly good. My only complaint is that his voice is so variant that the volume gets very extreme and makes it a bit hard to not continually adjust. Sometimes the reading gets too quiet and then right after that too loud, and I'll have to adjust the volume. Just an FYI. It's a great audiobook.

Wonderful performance

It should go without saying that the stories of Beatrix Potter are lovely and iconic. I must applaud the performer for the vast variety in voices for the characters. The performance of 'The Tale of the Pie and the Patty-Pan' in particular was legitimately hilarious even though I am an adult reader with (arguably) totally sophisticated and high-brow tastes (totally). Definitely one of the best narrations I've ever listened to (and I've listened to plenty of amazing narrations in my time).
