A good although, over the top, Avengers story.

I read the summary and decided to get it mainly because it wasn't a story I already knew by heart. in fact had never heard of it at all. it was a little on the unbelievable side (yes, I know it's a comic, not a true story). I don't want to ruin it for anyone but for every disaster that happened, randomly the exact Avenger or Avengers for the job happened to be the ones responding. it was interesting the way they tied it all together at the end.

The performers did a great job. After I got used to the idea that they were not the voices that I was used to. Whoever did the casting did an excellent job.

So in summary, I don't know if this is gonna help anyone decide, but get it. I listened to it in one sitting at and never lost interest. Enjoy!

Pretty good

I enjoyed it, it's an interesting story. Performances were good. It's a new look at what would happen if multiple villains set their individual plans into action at the same time, instead of one at a time like typical comic stories.

Action packed with an interesting premise

Excellent performances, interesting plot and the perfect amount of references.
While this is clearly a work closer to the comics, movie only fans will have no problem keeping up. Having the disasters happen simultaneously and spreading the Heroes thin reminds me of the Acts of Vengeance or Secret Invasion stories lines. It was great to see some underutilized villains and comic references.

Negatives: I wish there were other plots going off in the background that would occupy the Fantastic Four and the other heroes, just a line or two. The final battle with the Mystery Big Bad could have gone on longer. There is one appropriate weapon that villain is infamous for using, that could have made them more threatening, and wasn't even mentioned. Keep in mind all my complaints are "it didn't go on another hour"

This book is well "Assembled" lol

Take a bunch of seemingly separate stories, add some personal drama and existential crisis, and sprinkle in the magic of the Marvel Universe; you have a fun and exciting way to experience the Avengers in book form.

Overall, this was very well done; while the story is fairly predictable, anyone who actually knows the Marvel lore will appreciate callbacks to characters that might have been long forgotten. Worth the listen once you accept that this is a dramatization of the story and not a readthrough.

Exactly as Advertised

Every Avenger gets moments to shine, along with all the villains. Perfectly balances all the individual heroes' stories while building up to an immensely satisfying finale. Feels like an Avengers movie we never got.

Mostly good

Some parts seemed rather stretched story wise. Otherwise fun listen and with a full cast.

Great story and reading

Loved it but disappointed the hulk only had a undetailed 30 second fight. Story was good and reading was good
