Publisher's summary

A self-made billionaire, his real estate agent and three weeks to find the right property.

Jackson Walker hasn't had the best family life. Growing up in the foster system in Australia, it wasn’t until he met his college football coach that he understood what a normal family looked like. When he gets the call that Coach has passed away, he returns to California for the funeral and to find a place to honor the man.

Hailey Montgomery threw herself into real estate soon after breaking up with her boyfriend nearly five years ago. She’s been working to build a name for herself and when the chance to make partner at her firm becomes available, she jumps at the chance. But the only way to achieve that distinction is to find a commercial property for the guy she’s nicknamed "Golden Boy" from all the stories her father told about him.

As spending time together brings them closer, the trust between them is called into question. Can they work through what’s happened in their individual pasts to create a relationship that will last?

Loved everything about this!

Loved that a foster kid doesn't let that way of life define him in a negative light as some do. He still chose to believe in himself and went to college. Well not necessarily making the best choices, he finds a mentor who becomes a lot like a dad to him and helps him to make something of himself (to the billion$). When said mentor dies and he returns to the funeral he finds attraction to a lady who holds some prejudices against him. How does it pan out, would the mentor be proud if he was still here? This was just an all around good, sweet and clean listen.

I thought the narration was excellent, nice accents.

I received a free copy of this audiobook from the author and I'm voluntarily leaving this review.

Prince Charming or a repeat of her worst nightmare?

Haley was going to lose it if she heard one time from her father about his “Golden Boy”. Then her dad died from cancer and she met a bunch of her dad’s guys who he helped to become men when they were in college. Jackson was just as wonderful as he had been painted and Haley wondered if he really was her Prince Charming. This is a great story and the narration is wonderful transitioning smoothly between multiple accents. Clean and wholesome. I was given a free code for this book and this is my honest opinion

AUSTRALIAN BILLIONAIRE OF MY HEART

JACKSON WAS AN ORPHAN WHO GREW UP TO BECOME A BILLIONAIRE. THE ONLY PLACE HE EVER FELT LIKE HE WAS PART OF A FAMILY WAS IN CALIFORNIA WITH HIS COACHES FAMILY. JACKSON RECEIVES A PHONE CALL THAT HIS SUROGATE FATHER AND COACH IS DECEASED AND IS ASKED TO COME TO CA. FOR THE FUNERAL. UPON ARRIVING JACKSON IS SURPRISED TO MEET HAYLEY HIS COACHES ELDEST DAUGHTER, THE BOOK DOES FOCUS FOR A WHILE ON THE FUNERAL, BUT IT IS ALSO ABOUT A FATHERS LEGACY AND MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN NOT ONLY THE LIFE OF JACKSON, BUT THE ENTIRETY OF THE I.B.C. HAYLEY HAS HAD A BAD RELATIONSHIP IN HER PAST AND HAS NO INTENTIONS OF FALLING IN LOVE WITH A BILLIONAIRE.. BUT AFTER A MISTAKE THAT COULD CAUSE THE TENUOUS TRUST THAT HAYLEY HAS FOR MEN IS DAMAGED IT SEEMS ALL HOPE FOR JACKSON AND HAYLEY MAY BE OVER. THE UNEXPECTED HAPPENS...... AND MAYBE A HAPPILY EVER AFTER....
TANYA DOUGHERTY HAS A WONDERFUL VOICE AND ACTUALLY SOUNDED LIKE SOMEONE FROM AUSTRALIA. I CANNOT WAIT FOR THE NEXT AUDIO BOOK!

The perfect gentleman

Having grown up in the foster care system, you'd expect Jackson to have more issues than he seems to. That may be in part because he came under the influence of a godly role model in his latter teens. This man's legacy lives on through Jackson in all the things he learned during that time that have become essential to who he is and how he lives his life.

The story begins with Jackson receiving the call that his mentor has died. Flying back to the U.S. in time for the funeral, Jackson meets his mentor's oldest child, a daughter Jackson's age, whom he's never met before.

She sees in him so many of the traits she loved in her father. But she also blames him for being a standard she never felt she could live up to.

As the sparks fly, it's only a matter of time before the international billionaire's heart finds its home at last.

A selfless father knows best!

This romance honors a deceased father’s legacy and the long lasting impact of a life of service. I really enjoyed this story about how the work we do for others can have a profound change in their lives, the least of which might be money.
This story was romantic and sweet, with a touch of pride and prejudice; and in some ways, both the hero and heroine were Cinderellas. I love that they find their happily ever after despite their loss...and as a result of the funeral of her dad/ his coach, their metaphorical fairy godfather.
The narrator’s performance did not impede or negatively in fact the enjoyment and understanding of the story. She’s not Jim Dale, the actual voices in your head; but she did very well.

Sweet contemporary romance

Jackson was not your typical billionaire. He was a self made man. That is unless you count the love and support he got from his football coach. He was a foster child that grew up having very little. But he found a special bond with his coach.
The coach’s daughter resented Jackson for all the attention she felt he stole from her with her father. She also couldn’t stand athletes or people with money due to her ex-boyfriends treatment of her.
So when Hailey finally meets Jackson at her fathers funeral she is not impressed. This is especially true when she finds out he is a billionaire.
This story is about moving beyond stereotypes and seeing the real person beneath the surface. Although I was surprised by how quickly they developed feelings for each other. But it was a cute story. I also enjoyed the accents from the narrator.

Enjoyable romance

The Australian Billionaire is a sweet love story and a fun escape. It’s a well-written story with a pretty good narrator for the Australian accent. Cute, clean story.

Interesting book

Interesting book by Brittney Mills which features themes of acceptance, family dynamics, and different countries. The characters are interesting and their interactions are varied and hold your interest. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and would recommend reading it. The narration is great and I enjoyed Tanya Dougherty's adaptation.
